Which one was the game that brought you into games?

Every single person is one or the other, which one are you?

My first favorite games were: zelda: a link to the past, chrono trigger, ff3, secret of mana, killet instinct.

My first PC game was everquest followed by rainbow 6.

I loved me both some ff7 and mgs1 though, logged many hours playing each.
Since they are in no way comparable other than the fact they were both playstation games I won't choosr one lver the other.

I'm old school, I played D&D back in the 70's before it was even called D&D. Anyone else remember those pamphlets?

Doom for PC really got me into gaming I'd say. For mmorpg's, would have to be Runescape Classic sadly, back in 2000'.

On the topic of retro games, rogue legacy ftw. I havent been that immersed in an oldschool type game since ff7 xenogears and fft. check it out on steam, fucking amazing game.

Anyone interested in final fantasy 7, or tactics, or older snes RPGS like 4,5,6 or chrono trigger - I HIGHLY recommend checking out insanedifficulty.com . There are player made patches to these games that make them very very difficult but also way more balanced.

Final fantasy tactics is the most mature of them, and i will be very surprised if anyone can beat dorter trade city on their first go around. Even the opening battle can be lost. It is impossible to outlevel content as all battles scale with you.

Lol agree. ^ it's not one or the other if you're not 20 years old (or whatever.) The King's Quest games got me hooked. Also Fallout 1, Wing Commander and Myst

Might and Magic 3 was probably the first RPG i really liked but that was on PC.

It was FF7, on a Playstation that couldn't save. So i was doing the reactor part again and again ahaha. Then it was MGS. Back then i only had a PC so all these games were uncharted territory and blew my mind.

Both games are very good but I have a soft spot for FF7.

Also I would assume most of us where gamers before both of those games came out...

Although I played games before, the first two games that really got me into gaming were these two:

King of Dragons, although simple, was an awesome game at the time. I don't know if anyone has played this game but I still play it like once a month just because it was awesome.

And of course this game is one of the best of all time. I can't even tell you how many times I have played through this game, so good.

As for the next generation my two favorite games of all time would definitely be Legend of Zelda: OOT and FF7 those two games are what got me into RPG games and they are the best games of all time.

My first foray into home gaming. I used to play pinball and the arcade games they had down at the quik-trip but I'm pretty sure my first game at home was either Mario or Zelda when my parents bought an NES. Hard to remember specifics since I was like 6.

The games that got me in to gaming, happened to both be RPG's.

Among others. And many classics along the way, FF 1-6, DQ 1-4, etc.

Even though I had been gaming for 8-9 years by the time it released... I played through MGS twice, I played through FF7 nine times. That's my answer.

Been playing the FF7 hard type mod. Honestly, it's not that it's super hard but more that it puts the game where it should of been in the first place.

Going to try out a FF6 mod next, heard good things about it.
