Ancient Cyclops in SR, night & day?

Can I just confirm with people who have absolute experience and so can say without any doubt that the AC does or does not spawn at anytime during both the day and night? The idea that it is a daytime/nighttime spawn only is rather persistent.

I have had the most success at getting this bitch to spawn at 5pm game time. I know its said that it only spawns at night. Hogwash. I have had him spawn about 10times at this exact time.

I have spent a lot of time at Sro AC, I have pretty much always followed the kill guide that wiki has. The only for sure time I have seen the AC up in sro during the day time was when he was popped, and I was too slow getting back to kill him or someone else was. I have never seen him pop during the day out of about 30 AC kills in sro in the last 4 months. I think the only real way to prove a day pop would be literally to start recording a minute or two before the AC/PH should repop during the day time, A screenshot does no justice since I took one before when red was like ~25 people at 4am EST no one was around, I was switching between chars in sro/cazic thule to farm items/ring and I was on one char too long and logged in to see the AC up during the day only because of above reason.

I think a GM may have posted on this that AC can spawn during the day time, But I don't have the time to search the forums right now for the thread. I think Nilbog or Rogean someone posted a snip of code for sro AC to show either it could or couldn't.

The problem with a lot of anecdotal information is that as most people follow the wiki, they set up the cycle so he only ever spawns at night. It's self-fulfilling. I'm almost certain he spawns anytime, but I can't remember the first kill I saw. The second was at 3am, and I *think* the first was around 5pm or so.

Anyway, I'm going to just kill PHs as soon as they appear, forget about the clock, and see what happens.

P.S. I seriously love that there are spawns like this where you've got important drops on rare mobs on crazily convoluted spawn cycles, nothing is given away to the player base, and players have had to find and work it all out for themselves. No kidding, there is not another game in the world I can think of that does/did that, and certainly no modern MMO.

If there was an absolute defined guide to getting the AC to spawn it wouldn't be posted here, given the jboot racketeering going on ;)

I managed to get him for my necro off about 90 minutes work of just killing all 3 spawns as soon as they spawned...probably some luck involved, I didn't care, it was done :p

4pm kill after 16 hours straight of following the 2 kills per night cycle technique. Came back some guy was running a 4 pm spawn he had to go so i took it over got on the first pop at 4 pm.

I killed the AC on live in broad daylight. I certainly remember it so I don't think the AC as a night only spawn is classic so much as an urban legend that made it into the wiki here (I'm the one that updated the wiki recently to say it spawns in the day).

I definitely watched three spawns over the night of 8-1/8-2. Two of the three were during the day, the third was around 7 pm or so.

Like someone said, if you carefully followed the Wiki you were bound to spawn the AC at night. We just killed the PH whenever it popped and the AC popped whenever he wanted.

Sony Devs confirmed AC was a night spawn on Live... at least once upon a time.

I need to camp the AC here then. I camped the one in OOT from 7pm until 5 am and didn't get a spawn :-(

I used to kill AC on his spawn time and got a mix of day and night spawns. It is not night-only here. If it is, it's messed up.

There's one spawn in South Ro with a 30.66666666 minute repop time that has a 10% chance of being the ancient cyclops, but he has to spawn at night. He's on the same spawn table with a_desert_madman, a_dervish_cutthroat, a_sand_giant, and a_mummy.

Look at all the other changes that were done. That thing is completely destroyed. There is no 2 minute spawn, 9 minute spawn, 12 minute spawn.

I haven't camped the SRO one in a while but this looks completely wrong.

If you always kill the ph at the same time he will always spawn at the same time.. Just kill 1 ph every 30 min over and over til he spawns. Sometimes its 1 spawn sometimes its 20 spawns (depending on your luck), statistically its 10% chance each time. That simple. No voodoo magic.
