I wouldn't say it's bad at all, in fact it can be quite relaxing. As with anything like that tho it should be used responsibly and with a relaxed mindset in a friendly environment. Any anxiety or paranoia will be hugely amplified, so if you aren't feeling it don't do it.
I recommend trying it outdoors on a sunny day :)

I would not recommend using this substance at all. Although it is a "new" thing among the youth not all that much is known about its side-effects. What is known is that it works on Kappa-opioid system which is related with addiction and withdrawl[1] Furthermore it works on Dopamine secretion and therefore can have short term effects such as depression, anxiety, paranoia, euforia and dysphoria amongst others but could also have long term effects such as schizophrenia or Parkinsonism when used in excess[2].
What is very positive about this drug is that it is opening new ideas in the way we wish to treat patients with these conditions and how to go about it. But to go as far as to recommend its use. No. This is not a magical drug and just because it is naturally occuring does not mean it is any less harmful. Just though I would add my opinion.
[1] Depressive-like effects of the kappa opioid receptor agonist salvinorin A are associated with decreased phasic dopamine release in the nucleus accumbens (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2894632/)

Drugs are what you make them. If your scared and nervous about trying something and very on the edge, it can make for a horrendous time. Luckily, with Salvia, the trip is very quick, less than 15 minutes. The thing about Salvia is, depending on the potency, it can have very different outcomes when you take it. Either you will feel very high and relaxed or you will trip major balls. It's not all bad, just make sure you have a sitter and an open mind.
The best hallucinogen is DMT though, it beats the crap out of Salvia because of the clarity of the trip.
