Paw of Opolla Quest-tion

I have all the rings required for the Paw and only need the container from Vin Moltor under Qeynos. I've killed him two times after he says he has it and he doesn't drop it. I read on Allakhazam that you can just kill him rather than giving him the Kalish and Rat Meat Pie he demands. Was this changed on P99? I would think after he tells you he has the paw that it wouldn't be a random drop?

Any insight is much appreciated.

I do the rat ear pie or whatever... its really very easy to make. Its actually probably faster to build up your cooking and make it, then it is to kill him 3x.

Killing Vin over and over is bad faction for pretty much anyone who can use the paw, so I recommend doing the meat pie and kalish. The pie is easy to make then just hit EC and get a high level Baker to cook it for you.

It's a pita to have to do this extra step but not as much of a pita as trying to fix that faction.

I had no baking skills whatsoever, but I was able to make the meat pie in two tries. No need to hit EC for it.

The raw intermediary was easy to make. I burned thru like 10 of them trying to get them baked....The trivial on the final one is like 170 something.

I think I killed him like 4 times on my druid before he dropped the paw.
