I'm in need of a break from EQ and, after a few days of debating what to play, I've decided to give Vanguard another go. Downloading and installing it now.
Planning to try out a Disciple and Dread Knight on the island and pick one to solo the rest of the way, but if anyone is interested in getting a group effort going there are a lot of other classes I would consider playing.
I've played off and on since beta and never really seem to make it past around 20 or so because something always comes up with RL or another game and I always figure VG will keep. Kind of want to see the upper end at some point. Maybe this will be it. Despite it's bad rap from its horrid release, VG is a vast and beautiful game with a small but dedicated player base. It can be buggy at times, but if you love MMOs, you should check it out at least once, even if it's not now with me. It was developed by Brad McQuade, who was the original designer of EQ and is, arguably, the "real" EQ2. Many have said that it is their favorite game for dungeon crawling.
The game is currently entirely free to play with none of the class restrictions from before. Not sure about gear. If you pay, you get an exp bonus, a %bonus to dropped cash and, I think I saw something about them working on a rare dropped item %bonus but that's not in yet.
If anyone is interested in getting some kind of effort going, just let me know.
