The devs should not be making ANY decisions based on the number of threads created, number of replies made or the poll stats.

People used to love that about this server - that the devs don't cave to silly demands or make big changes because of players whining on the forum... but that time is long gone.

but imo a pvp teams server has wayy more potential than a progression server. good vs evil with internal strife on the evil side? neutral getting caught up in the fighting. politics, self-preservation, and the threat of stumbling upon a player-hunting party of ogres, trolls, and dark elves?

i know that many people have been burned by eq pvp. especially since eq pvp is extremely unbalanced class-wise and the pvp server has a rich tradition of griefing and cheating. but honestly, i'd have way better stories than just going to WC to join a Derv group and sit there for hours doing nothing but spamming the heal/auto attack key.

Confirmed, more potential in the new team PvP server than a lot of upcoming MMOs. Without it even launching can also confirm that it'll be better than Diablo 3 / GW2.

why a new blue99 ? it is almost perfect as it is, fix pathing in VP and forbid training and you have got a real gem !

on the other hand team99 is appealing even for us bluebies 'cause it brings something new !

I'd estimate at least 90% of people wanting a new blue server would also be in favor of a server wipe of the existing blue server...but as that can't happen they'll look to try do it by proxy (ie - the old server would be starved of new players, it would shrink, and the shrinkage would cause more to leave etc).

I honestly do not think a new Blue server would cause fragmentation to the extent you're afraid of. Regardless, I voted PVP Teams server because I'm actually really excited to give the new server a try when it launches.
