1.Remove all non-classic implementations such as variance, nerfed items, allowed training etc.
2. Take a more hands-off approach unless a rule is broken.
3. Let the players figure out how they want to handle classic EverQuest raiding within a classic EverQuest ruleset

allowed training
it's funny, because then you say...
2. Take a more hands-off approach unless a rule is broken.
Erm. Pretty sure this is already the way it is. But without allowed training there's going to be a lot more rule breaking going on, imo.
3. Let the players figure out how they want to handle classic EverQuest raiding within a classic EverQuest ruleset
Tried that already, everyone still cried.
This thread is silly. Stop trying to "fix" the raid scene and wait for velious.
oh, i forgot, box is dying, ship is sinking, 1000pop primetime too low for this box. rogean needs to go down with the ship and flip the switch once everyones in the lifeboats.

I'd be willing to bet most of the "fix the raid scene" posts are by non-raiders.
I pick towers.

If by "non-raiders" you mean "people who took one look at the pustulant mess you refer to as EQ raiding or even took a shot at it a few times before vomiting in their mouth and turning on their heels to pursue other endeavors on P99", then you'd be fairly accurate.
edit: You pompous douche. As if your "status" as a raider here means anything but that you've an enormous amount of time on your hands with which to monopolize content on a nostalgia server.

Mad because you didn't have the time in 99 and still mad because you don't have it now.
EQ is a time sink. Why wouldn't the people with unlimited playtime have the most pixels? Changing the rules isn't going to help.
BTW I don't raid. Look at the guild tag beardy.

I had a blast with EQ in 99. I eventually landed in a "casual raiding" guild with which I was able to experience a large amount of content... never on the bleeding edge, but I had fun. Here, I can't even believe that people could regard raiding as "fun" with a straight face.

Why do they need/want a constant, neverending stream of the same fucking pixels? I can only guess that they relish in being exclusionary. Yes, this angers me. I don't want more rules, I want less douchebags.
BTW I don't raid. Look at the guild tag beardy.
Good for you - I leapt to conclusions based on the snark. Maybe you would raid if it didn't require a 'round the clock commitment. Imagine...
P.S. - I do wear a full beard. And I only shave my neck about once a week.

Get rid of the casuals that ruin the raid scene with these posts. Towers.
