I am an untwinked level 49 Monk looking for a boring place to level. Currently camping the one sand giant spawn in Northern Desert of Ro. Highly boring, but it's safe and it's a static spawn point with no danger around me. Looking for suggestions on other places that would be as easy and safe as this.

I would think outside of Karnors Castle would work in Dreadlands.

Until you get killed by a bards train.

Probably light blue by 49 (or most of them at least)...not entirely sure.
Have you given the Nobles in Highkeep a try? (will turn light blue around 54)
Go up an extra floor from the 2 spawn and there's a single spawn up there just as a tester.

The east wall of KC is best at that level. There is the highest concentration of Drolvarg Snarlers, Petrifier cocks and Drolvarg Ragers in this area (which should all be DB). If you're going for quick xp try to avoid the Ravishing Drolvargs even at 49 as they do not give much more xp than the others but are considerably harder.
This was top-shelf XP while I was levelling there as all the mobs flee at 20% and if you're sitting on the "shelf" surrounding the castle they rarely run off and agro more.

I like light blue. Dark blue is a bit too tough, I cannot consistently defeat them with my gear. I was recently in Overthere, Sabertooh Tigers were dark blue and I could defeat them about 50% of the time.

I am skilling up intimidation currently. I didn't think it would be useful because I thought they would run away at full speed which is not the case. It's up to a skill of 150, but I have yet to see it work on a Sand Giant which is light blue to me.

You can easily solo pull CoM spawns and solo up to 58 there. You will find a mix of lb-db mobs at 49. It's worth a shot. Sneak pull is your friend.

If you are not geared for regen or ultra-dps then I would skill up as fast as possible in intimidation. Kunark outdoor pathing tends to have mobs run in circles with a straight line run thrown in there every once and a while for fun. This should allow you to continue with XPing off DB mobs which is MUCH faster than LB mobs.
At your level a large volume of low-DB mobs is best for quick xp.

Thanks... I had no idea intimidation would be useful. Mobs running away at full speed sucks, but at normal speed it is doable.
Intimidation works very well on giant mobs with a large hit box. In a few levels, you may be able to handle seafuries.

would do outside kc until 50...although many mobs will be turning lblue. the brutes and some of the giants stay blue for a long time though. you need to max your intimidate skill. i don't know how it compared to live for monks, but intimidate on p99 is very reliable at this lvl. you will be able to keep many mobs chain feared at max skill outside kc.
also, on the off chance you die it is super easy to find a rez at the nwall as folks run to and from kc. lots of folks also around that can haste/sow you if you ask nicely.
if you go to the caves the exp per mob is prob a bit better...but you lose the other advantages.
