It's a tough call. Under the Dome is pretty shitty all the way through, but Revolution really lays on the contradictions and stupidity towards the end. Both have absolutely terrible acting backed up by dialogue that was written by a 7 year old. Revolution is really bad from a science perspective while Under the Dome is really bad from a fiction perspective (completely unbelievable characters). Both series had me hoping all the characters would die rather gruesome deaths.

Space: 1999 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space:_1999)

Intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WZW4groJro)

I was not alive back then and didn't get past season 1.

Be grateful we know a lot more about space, biology, science, and planets even if writers ignore it and make shit up left and right they still have a kindergarten understanding.

On a note, I know several nerds and not nerds that drool over every episode of both Under the Dome and Revolution. I have not seen either. Maybe 5 minutes of a Revolution episode halfway through. But was not particularly impressed.

I'm a big BSG, Stargate, Star Trek fan. The new turn of the millennium BSG is the best Sci Fi I have ever seen for TV. Leaps and bounds better than either Stargate or Trek.

Except for that last season and especially the last episode of BSG, right? What a letdown. The first few seasons were great though.

36 views and only 1 vote. This can only mean few people watch these shows. You lucky devils you.

I thought it was good. It fit the shows Mormon roots lol.

Yeah, but the idea of saving humanity by eschewing technology, relegating the majority of mankind to short nasty lives with brutal deaths for 150,000 years? Really great plan there guys. I'm sure that's a great way to allow our hearts to grow and catch up with our minds. Nothing like a little plague, famine, and war to make us all love each other more. And all the suffering and death was for nothing, as this information was clearly not passed down to help us avoid this fate from repeating in the future. Not to mention what the Cylons are likely to do in the intervening eons. Next time we see them, they will have colonized the better part of the galaxy while we were fighting over scraps of food and pieces of land in Europe.

Season 6 of Lost

That's funny. I kept thinking Revolution felt like a really poorly done version of Lost. At least Lost had a few good seasons to temper the crap at the end.

Yeah for sure. It overlooked a lot of legitimate conclusions. 100% with you there. I think the Cylons wanted it that way and made it happen regardless of what the "humans" or "hybrids" did. So in the end it was just the surrender of humanity to its own baser natures. Not a good ending for people who supposedly were enlightened by their journey.

I'll give ya that, they did have a few good seasons, I even liked season 6 until about the day after I watched it.. I think it was at that pt I thought "hmm, I think s6 just conned me out of a good ending" lol

*edit* kind of like the last ep of Sopranos, I enjoyed the show but that last ep... maybe I'm just not a fan of series endings

I wouldn't say BSG was better than stargate. I did however really enjoy watching a new sg1/sga/bsg episode every week. Was fantastic.

I enjoyed SG1, SGA (more), a lot. But it had similar pitfalls to other sci-fi that allowed pretty much magical tech.

BSG was just nukes, hot lead, robots, and zero G. Very little technobabble. They even kept the electronic warfare toned down and somewhat respectful.

My vote was cast.

If we were going for the worst Sci-Fi series of all time...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan%27s_Run_%28TV_series%29

I was a very young child when that crap was on TV, and it was so bad... My father said I could do something I wasn't allowed to up until that point.

"You can stay up late, but you have to watch this with me."

I took him up on it just once. It was horrible.

I'll vote for anything currently on the SyFy channel. Their entire lineup sucks now.

You have either not lived long enough or have long-term memory problems if you think Revolution or Under the Dome come close to the worst. There have been so many that they wouldn't even break the top 20.

I'd have to cast my vote for the wrestling show that scifi cancelled SG1 for.

Not denying either of your theories, but I chose these two because I just watched both series within the past month and couldn't believe what I was seeing made it onto TV.

Also, the thread is not titled "worst sci fi tv series of all time". It's specifically about two of the latest in the long line of horrible sci fi series.

Without a qualifier, "of all time" is the only assumption to make. The thread title mentions nothing about limiting it to just those two, and "worst" would not be the word to use between two things. "Worst" explicitly means more than 2.

Both shows sucked. I gave each a chance but they turned out to be dull and predictable.
Under the dome is worse and even more of a gimmick then revolution.

I've turned multiple ex gf's and current gf into scifi lovers because of Sg-1. You just need to watch past the first few seasons and you'll understand.
