View Full Version : I can't log in. Selecting a character brings me back to the Log In screen

[SOLVED]

I can't log in. I select a character and it sits there loading for 5 minutes and then brings me back to the Log In screen. I thought it was a problem with the zone my race starts in (Dark Elf) so I tried making a character of another race (Wood Elf) and got the same problem.

Edit: Also EverQuest wont go out of Windowed mode into Full Screen mode. I try hitting alt-enter and it works for a bit but then it goes back into Windowed mode. I wouldn't mind Windowed mode so much if it didn't try to fill the whole screen. My desktop resolution is 1280 x 1024 and it causes the game to run quite slow. I tried editing an ini file but it didn't help.

I fixed everything. I went to re-install EverQuest but I needed to restart my computer before I could delete the files. So I reset my computer and deleted my files and decided to try running my EQLite install before re-installing, thinking that maybe it would work after a restart. It gave me an error because it was still trying to find the EverQuest files C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest. This gave me an idea. I moved all the files from C:\EQLite to the \Sony\EverQuest directory and tried running the game.

It started in full screen at 1024 x 768 just like I set it to. It logged in, it loaded at lightning speeds, I chose my character, and I'm now in game.

I am having a similar problem. After I hit enter world with my character selected I get booted right back out to the account log in screen. Any ideas?

This doesn't look like the same issue at all...

We're seeing the exact same issue. I can log in, my roommate can log in, but my brother can't. his account is the only one doing what the OP describes. the moment he presses enter world, it says disconnecting and drops him.
