HBO's Rome is probably my favorite show of all time, even 6 years after it ended. Anyone else a fan? I was feeling a bit sad today (looking through some youtube clips) that they only made 2 seasons because the show was just awesome. I was pissed off at HBO for canceling it, but I forgave them a little when they made Game of Thrones.

Here are some of my favorite scenes. There is plenty of violence, gore, and bad language in this show, so NSFW or around kids if you click the links, but it just wouldn't be Rome without it.

Pullo in the arena after being condemned for murder.

Atia of the Julii: Queen bitch of Rome.

For a couple of years there was talk of a feature film, but I am kinda glad they didn't because they couldn't have done it justice.

I might be thinking of sparta or sparticus or just way off but is that the show that had a ton of cgi nonsense in it?

I think that was Spartacus. I watched Spartacus too, but Rome is superior in many ways. The storyline, the relationships, the characters, the set.. everything done way better on Rome, imo. ;)

Rome was a great show I really liked it. In general, most HBO shows are really good, but I talked to some people and they didn't think Rome was great. Personally, it is one of my favorite shows. I think the second season suffered a little because they were forced to end it so fast. I wish they had been able to do more seasons.

My favorite character was Antony, and my favorite scene was when Titus and Lucious were stranded on the island from a boat wreck in season 1 (can't find video). Second favorite was when old octavian told the girl he would sometimes hit her to sexually gratify himself. Worst part of the series was the crazy difference in appearance between both octavians.

Yes, I loved Antony. James Purefoy did an excellent job, he made me laugh a lot. Him and Pullo both did. I laughed my ass off in season 1 when Vorenus and Pullo were in the Egyptian desert waiting around all hot and sweaty to follow the guys who would lead them to Cleopatra. Pullo said something like, "It's hotter than Vulcan's dick out here." Lol

I loved the first season, but lost interest in the second season. Just felt like things got too crazy and the storyline didn't leave me wanting more. I still intend on eventually going back to watch it.

Been playing a ton of Total War Rome 2 since it was released and it actually had me thinking about the show the other day.

Rome is one of my favorite shows. James purefoy the guy who played mark anthony is amazing. Hes such a good actor. Season 2 was rushed it was like 4 seasons in one. The set burnt down and thats why the show only did two seasons. There was suppose to be a whole season in egypt not just a couple scenes in two episodes.

Favorite parts -

When vorenus jumps in to save pullo in that arena or whatever it was

It might be the last seen, that chick mark anthony banged the whole show, octavians mother? I forget. But when she moves in front of that other chick right before they walk out to greet Rome. Declaring shes still the top chick around.

Anytime mark anthony says "on jupiters cunt!"

I never heard there was a fire on the set, but sure enough there was

Apparently the show was already cancelled and done filming by then.

Yeah I hated the way they wrapped it up. I know it was supposed to have been really expensive to film that show but they could have done a much better job with season 2 at least.

It drove me nuts how they spoke on Spartacus, not just the bad language, but wtf kind of talking style was that?

I read that egypt was suppose to be its own season. like season 4 down the line. but it got rushed into season two. but maybe thats wrong info since you said season was wrapped up? idk

Yeah it was just bad. The action scenes were all cgi with weird effects that made no sense and the script was horrid.

Don't think I've ever heard anyone talking about it like you hear people talk about GoT lost etc etc etc
