I was in the Oasis in my group, I died but it took way too long to load Nektulos Forest zone.. I waited for a long time until my client got messed up then I killed the session using the task manager.

Now when I try to log in it says that I have patch problems or something like that. What I can do to fix this problem?

Edit to further clarify the problem:
I log in normally then I go to the Server Selection screen. I choose EQ 1999 server and click to go to the character screen I just get a black screen then after awhile it kicks me back to Login screen.

That's kinda odd, if it was working ok.

Maybe - a first step.. you could run a disk check for errors. Rarely, but on occasion they can cause issues with data integrity..

I mean, short of a re-install.. it might be hard to say which file is corrupted - did you try logging in another character?

Just wanted to say that the problem was with my ISP and now it's fixed.

Thanks Overcast and H0tr0d for your support :)

Can you explain what you did to fix this? I've been getting this all day today now

There's some sea cable got cut/damaged somewhere and the ISP I was using had that cable as a major connection to oversea servers (Project 1999 server is in east coast USA) so if you are in Europe, Africa or Asia it's probably because of that. I switched to another ISP and it works fine.

Basically the ping time I had once the sea cable got damaged was 1100ms+ and that is too slow for you to connect to the character screen (funny I have no problems connecting to any other game; even though I do get high latency in the other games but at least I was able to connect).

So, conclusion is your connection has high latency with the server and the server doesn't give you enough chance to connect!

That was my situation at least. :)

To further elaborate on this issue:

A few people in game I know had the same issue, with the same zone (Nektulos Forest). Many found that if they logged into another character, in a different zone, and then logged back into the problematic character in Nektulos, this also was correcting the issue.

That sounds about right for me and my friends issues here then, thanks
