snare things, run in circle to round them up, use aoe

its fairly simple, snare all targets and aoe. Its quad because that is the max reliable number that you can both keep snared and hit with your aoe.

but snare all first, run in circles to get them bunched up then aoe, run aoe, run aoe, resnare if needed.

Rinse repeat

It's fast XP, but so damned boring. Grabbing a Clarity first helps a bit.

Snare 4 mobs, run from them, circle around to make sure they group up, then cast your AOE nuke.

You're gonna want to get 4 mobs, snare them all, then use an AE to kill them.

Thanks! I feel like I haven't been a real druid until reading this.

Snare 4 mobs, run from them, circle around backwards to make sure they group up, then cast your AOE nuke.

For some reason, circling backwards gathers them faster.

It is boring. I prefer charming. While charming, there is zero down time and it's fun. I'm leveling an enchanter solo because I enjoy it so much.

Find 4 mobs, snare them all, snare the 5th one, snare the 6th one too, run in a circle once they bunch up, get too close and get smacked by all 6, run, gate, run back to zone and start over.

Don't worry Shams, this was me until yesterday! I got it down pat fairly quickly, now to find some hunting places :)

I did 35 to 51 quad kiting lol. I've leveled more than one Druid though. I remember doing spectres in Oasis a lot and later Spirocs. I missed not doing snow cougars in iceclad this time around.

if necessary you can run a little farther, sit and med a tick, then cast your AoE. this helps with making sure you dont run oom.

It takes a BIG mana pool to Quad Kite. So you may have to adjust your gear to do it well. They don't die in like 30 seconds trust me. And it helps if they are all sort of the same level mobs.

Good place to practice at 39, and the mobs will give a little exp is FV pirates on the far cliffs. By 39/40 you can also do the growlers and snarlers in that area.

For some reason, circling backwards gathers them faster.

The distance between you and the snared mobs determines how quickly they cluster together. If you can take the pounding, simply standing still until all are on you, then backing up a short distance and repeating will give you a very tight cluster, very quickly. Unless you're quadding relatively weak mobs, and are very well-geared, this can be quite risky. Getting stunned can really mess you up.

My usual tactic was to position so that the mobs appear to be spaced as widely apart as possible. Allow them to get nearby, but still far enough back that they can't hit you. Move away at the same speed as they approach. Backing up with SoW works, as does strafing or walking away with camera angled to show the relative range. The mobs are trying to converge on you. The closer they are, the faster they converge.

I would recommend not letting them get close enough to hit you. I played a wiz on live and play one here, they are more fragile than druids, but in either case most mobs that are worth the xp to quad will tear you up.

I would recommend you make a slow circle around the mobs. The longer you are in a spot that is perpendicular to the line that is the space between two mobs the smaller that space becomes.

I may ehad to FV as suggested and give it a whirl. Hopefully I won't get wasted. I just got 39 though and I feel like I can slay stuff in DL pretty quick while only losing about 40% of my mana with my new 282 dmg DD, so I can always revert to that and keep making good exp :) ... I played a warrior as my main on live and although I love tanking, I think soloing makes EQ a whole different beast.

Yeah, one stun and you're likely dead. It's a dance; you'll get the hang of it... or die.

Unless your gear is awesome, you'll most likely need to do the run ahead and sit a tick to med technique to finish them off, especially if you have resists, or take too long and snare runs out. Keep that in mind.

Circling is slow. Back away once mobs have clustered well and do a quarter-circle if you need to, but lure them in as close as you reasonably can. Stay alert for other nearby mobs and obstacles. Make sure there is always somewhere to run directly away from the quad.

If you do die, no big deal -- a single quad will usually make up for the XP loss. Dying still dilutes your XP over time, so try not to be too stupid about it.

I pretty much agree with others who have stated that letting mobs get close is too risky. The exception here is a well-twinked druid quadding borderline LB mobs. Druids self-heal well, and can take a few hits. Back on Brell, I quadded wyverns in Cobalt Scar this way for a few levels.
