Also do a DNS Flush:
Start -> Run (Or type): cmd <enter> -> ipconfig /flushdns

Last Resort. This should only be a temporary fix. You should undo these changes after a day or two.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
Open the file "hosts" in notepad.
Add a line to the bottom of the file:
108.61.129.166 login.eqemulator.net
If you have trouble with these steps you should probably wait it out and keep trying to flushdns.

flush didn't work, but the IP i get is 108.61.129.166
And you can't login? Can you ping it?
Rogean
11-13-2013, 12:49 AM
yeah it lets me ping it, just doesn't let me log in
Your eqhost.txt file DOES say login.eqemulator.net right?
Rogean

i haven't changed it since i started playing here in 2010, unless it was specified within a patch between then and now
Stop assuming and open it up and look.

With a windows command prompt... Run > Cmd or CMD in Windows 7 Start menu bar you type "ipconfig/flushdns" and see if that works. Minus the quotes of course.

By the way, the last resort fix worked for me. I had to copy the hosts file out of the specified folder, edit it, then paste it over the old one.
Thanks Rogean!

anyone get anything to work if flushdns didnt?

67.23.190.71 when i ping login.eqemulator.net and times out.
If i ping 108.61.129.166 it will receive a reply.
I have tried the "last resort" fix and still cannot get logged in. The "hosts" file is in the Systems32>Drivers>Etc if that makes any difference? Should i move the hosts file elsewhere? This is how i have it posted at the bottom of the hosts file "
# 108.61.129.166 login.eqemulator.net" I have also flushed the DNS probably 20x now with no luck.
Anyone find a workaround yet if they are having similar issue still?

Reborn, I didn't put the # in front of what he said to enter. Literally just placed it at the bottom of the file

The # mark basically REM's out that line i.e. says, ignore this line.

Flush DNS instantly fixed this issue for me, thanks a ton Rogean!
What's the new DNS name for the server itself Rogean?

You probably can't ping 67.23.190.71 anymore cause that's the old IP.
Looks like 108.61.129.166 is the new IP for login.eqemulator.net so if you're still pinging the old IP for login.eqemulator.net you either need to flush the DNS or force your computer to use the correct IP in the host file.
