I've tried to run EQ on my laptop many times and what happens when I play is:

1. I run around and everything seems fine at first, then my run speed slows down as if I was snared, but the entire world is snared, everything slows down (something graphics wise I assume).

As a solution, I was told it was because the dual processing might be fooling with the game so I tried that and it didn't work.

2. After my computer has been on for a long time, EQ graphics just completely chop out. This choppy effect occurs when I'm running where it looks like everything is moving like a robot and mobs that are moving reset from where they started moving and my run speed starts getting out of control. It essentially acts like running at Selo's speed because it's only picking up portions of me running, then chopping out and essentially teleporting me 50 feet ahead of where I started.

I'm running it with Vista and it can run WoW fine, not that I play WoW anymore. So I was wondering why the graphics here are acting so screwy and what would explain the choppiness?

This definitely sounds like a dual/quad core issue. You can find if you google the problem of "Dual Core Graphics EQ" a fix listed somewhere in the live forums. Essentially, you have a few options as to fixing this. Your first option would be to set the Affinity of EverQuest while it's running in your task manager to just 1 CPU core. Since technically it is not going to impair your performance with EverQuest, it's a definite first step.

Second, if you're working with an AMD Dual/Quad, you might want to try installing AMD's Processor Optimizer that they have on their site. It essentially optimizes the timing on your two cores automatically. There are other programs provided by AMD that may help in this issue as well, CNQ (Cool N' Quiet) is also another tool that may help.

Third, (solution helped with my problems. Avatar speed glitches, graphics, crashing) is to download WinEQ 2. It's a program that allows you to run EverQuest windowed. Granted, I keep mine maximized, it has eliminated nearly 100% of the issues I have been having.

Hope this helps.
