I need me some tears! Or, just one actually.

After having to go through a lot of off-and-on with my schedule, the whole issue with the DDoS'er (twice!), and the upswing of fortune with being able to play during the bonus experience active, my wee little ikky Sslaith is lookin' to aid guilds or groups trouncing thier way through Fear in attempts at perhaps securing the Iksar Child's Tear. Apparently, in a situation like this it would just be easier to pay up to be able to loot the tear itself, or get the MQ but being that I haven't had a lot of time to invest in camping anything worth more than a handful of plat, I'm too poor to afford it...so that's why I offer up another body to the meatgrinder!

Tells to Sslaith, replies here, or PM's if you have any information that will lead to me jabbing an Iksar kid in the eye and collection those delicious, delicious tears.

Never ever feel you have to take that avenue to get your epic, keep the EC fat cats/guild banks at bay... quest it from start to finish :p

Hope a guild lets you come along for it :)

Level up some more or join a guild. There is a reason these quests are epic and require the help of large groups. If these were meant to be solo quests they wouldn't be epic. Make some friends and be social.

Well, I'd rather say that's what I'm actually doing. I know I can't complete it without help, so I'm reaching out to the community. As far as a guild is concerned, I don't want to hop in with the wrong group of people - I want to see how they operate, how raids are handled, and the general atmosphere before chucking myself into the mess of things. So, the above is to test the waters and see which may be the right fit, if it happens at all.

Fair enough, though many of the good raiding guilds have a trial/applicant period were you essentially try them out while they see if you fit as well.

I didn't think I would get mine for quite a long time, but finally did at lvl 58 :) I played out there, got to know people, and some awesome people took it upon themselves to help me get my epic - no strings attached, just to make some magic happen one night.

I am not saying this will happen to you, but my plan was to keep camping in Seb to get good drops and hopefully play for the MQ. But you are not yet able to camp there, but soon will be. And then you will get some good drops, and just save and save, even on the little things that a lot of people "pass" on, as they all add up.

And you do not need to join a guild to get one, but that is one avenue. If you find a guild where you like the people etc, and feel it is right, join it for that reason (not to get epic). You can still function and be an asset to groups in the interim :)

I know probably not what you want to hear, but this was my plan of attack, until I was jolted one night, in a good way, where some awesome people made a memorable night in my p99 life :)

Oh no, I totally get it. I know there are multiple avenues to the end-state. Back on live, I had something similar happen to me on my rogue (before epics were really understood as to what you could cut out of them, or skip over) - killed Phinny for his robe 167 times over the course of about 9-10 months with no luck on the robe drop...joined a guild called Radiant at level 53, and on day three of being in guild I got a tell from an officer asking what I was doin' in kedge. I explained that I was looking for Phinny and later, that he was up. I didn't expect much- I was the low guy on the totem pole. Worse, another guild had just started to pile people into the zone but the officer whipped up some groups and got there around the same time.

Most amazing thing happened; I was thinking this was going to be some sort of mob staredown/killstealing fight that you hear all the big guilds whining about, but soon we're both engaging as a collective team - they needed Phinny for the Bard spine, I needed it for the robe.

Wouldn't you know it, both items dropped.

Some people are just fucking awesome.
