I've leveled my bard to 38 and it is the first bard I've played in EQ. About 10-15 levels ago, I began to no longer use AE mez in groups because I found the mobs resisting it more and more. For a while now, I don't even mem it, preferring to single mez adds.
I figured this was a level thing as the mobs I was fighting were getting higher level relative to the song. However, last night I decided to spend a few minutes helping out an orc group in EC by AE mezzing and letting them pull to me. I was very surprised to find that asps, orcs, lionesses, etc in EC were resisting the AE mez about 40-50% of the time.
I'm lvl 38, these mobs are under lvl 10. Something seems wrong. Any more experienced bards have input on whether AE mez is working as intended? As of now, it is completely useless as far as I can tell.
My CHA unbuffed is around 135. I was using a Lute of the Gypsies.
