View Full Version : Soloing Advisor C`Zatl

Has anyone here tried to solo Advisor C`Zatl in Kithicor Forest? He's a level 55 cleric, one of the dark elves in the ruins in Kithicor Forest. In the spirit of adventure (along with a chance for fat loots - RBG), I'm going to try and take him down.
I've done pretty well as a bard taking down level 51-52 mobs in outdoor zones, but this is another story. I was wondering if anyone has tips or strategies for doing this as a bard.
My idea is this: sneak pull 2-3 of the mobs, and zone out until I can tag the Advisor by himself. Then, run around and let him waste his mana store by casting on me. With MR gear and the 2 resist songs I cap out at just under 340 MR so this shouldn't be too dangerous.
After that, I'm going to try and slow him and whack him with a Tishan's Orb until it procs, while running away to heal as necessary. Then a combination of Fufil's Curtailing Chant and Denon's Bereavement (which both decrease MR), along with the fear song. Heal songs thrown in as necessary. Re-Orb him every 10 minutes or so.
Any feedback? I'm wondering if there are any strategies I may be missing out on, and I'd like to get a solid plan before I end up with a pile of my own corpses. Let's hear it!

If you can fear him, why not snare/fear/melee? That is what I do on red to solo Wurm Scale Coats.

It would probably do more damage, but you are going to need the extra MR debuff you get from using the instruments w/ the DoTs just to help the fear land.

If he summons, you can't kite him. He does summon doesn't he?

Probably does.
BUT, as long as he doesn't damage him until after the mob has drained all its mana. He can kite sufficiently. If he's just using the orb and nothing else it will take a while to get the mob low enough that it starts to summon so he should be able to get a proc. One he tish's then as long as he can keep fear up on it and reapply tish before it wears he might be okay.
This is assuming his MR isn't so high that even after applying the debuffs it still resists.

He said it best. I doubt I would do more than 5% of his health until the first proc landed. The summoning isn't as much of an issue outside. Nezekezena summons but she is a cake walk to fear kite. This is obviously different but if fear can land at least half of the time then with any luck it should be possible.
I am worried about the timing though - I would have to start right at 6am game time and hope night doesn't fall before she does. Probably would let her waste her mana while undead are still up and start kiting the second they depop

Now you have me wanting to try it on red. To bad I wouldn't have the time due to PvP.

Will she depop even while engaged?

I meant the undead, and how they pop every evening and depop every morning. Fear kiting something in the middle of Kithicor at night is asking for trouble.

Fear-kite him with charmed Giz X`Tin (who is a level 50 rogue)?

Would definitely go far with the DPS, but would add a bit of complexity to the fight, and a lot more risk. This might be worth looking into if the fears land often.

He is 'easy' to duo with a few combinations of classes. You won't be able to land any magic based spells on him except for cancel magic (fire/cold/poison/disease should all land). that means no snare, no fear, etc. He will try and complete heal after 30% or so, so you want to be able to burn him and/or push hard (monk/druid is a nice combo imo). He is a cleric, so he will try to nuke you once in a while, but it isn't too bad. You might be able to run him oom, but I haven't tried since npc mana pools were fixed (before that patch, I had kited him for at least 30 minutes and he never went oom). To pull him, your best bet is a combination of sneak, harmony, and zoning out. I have tried to solo him by charming Giz (50 rogue), can't remember if I was successful or if I died. The good news is all the DE's in kith run at low HP.
The enchanter mob in that group can also drop RBG, and can be duo'd 'easily'. She'll charm if you kill her pet (lol), will tash you if you aren't tashed, and then try to slow you, weaken, etc. Takes a bit more effort to kill the enc kith de than the cleric, but solo would be another story.
Advisor might even be solo'able by a druid with a charmed dire wolf (night only, will depop), but again, I can't remember if I have tried that or not. I would definately use wolf when duo-ing to speed things up, especially against Coercer (the enchanter). The DE's never depop and are 8hour repops. RBG is a rare drop, though I have gotten two to drop.

Guess I have solo'd him, and he just spot heals, doesn't complete heal, though I might remember a ch rarely. I think I tried to do it with just a wolf and normal druid charm and was successful. Its a fun fight, good luck! PS check out the solo artist thread for more inspiration.
