I'm just about to face down the tier 2 boss. Need to find some better armor (have an 18 ARP weapon which in a pinch would do, but a 20 ARP weapon would really seal it). I have 15 armor atm, any idea where to get better past the gold upgraded steel set? I have no recipes...not sure where else to unlock. Game has also been real stingy with the tech, just have dash atm.

edit: And fucking furthermore, the glitch with sniper rifles need to fucking go ahead and drop the rifle instead of a fucking spear.

Also..you can kill just about anything by just walling it in quickly..then wack it through wall with no risk. Kinda game breaking...but this is beta after all.

Linux penguins are fantastic. If you put up some blocks in the sky and stay just out of range, you can iron hunting bow him down very slowly--he gets stuck mid animation and cannot even summon the linux penguins.

That said, you DO know you aren't stuck on the threat level 1 planet/moon, right? Coal and wood can fuel your ship--use the wood, it's suuuuper fucking common and you'll need the coal for torches and steel production once you have the molten core from the t1 boss. Unfortunately he's ranged and finding a ranged weapon that can shoot upwards in sector A is almost fucking impossible, so it's most likely going to have to be done with an iron bow for boss dps. Just make sure to set up an arena--leave arrow slits facing upwards and dont make them big enough for him to go through and you should be fine. It's a very slow process.

edit: also bring gratuitous bandaids--that motherfucker has a ton of hp. Unfortunately the iron bow is only 5 ARP. He's a level 10 boss. Your damage will be reduced by like 70%. Fun times. If you find out how to get ranged weaponry in any reliable fashion do please let me know--haven't figured out how to craft them yet--even killing enemies that have ranged weapons! (Glitch snipers OP)

Yea I just recently figured out I can get off planet..mining the lvl 10 planet now and trying to avoid mobs..as they rape me.

Ill craft a bow and give it a go again. Most fun ive had so far was loot the glitch castle on this world..killed the King and stole his crown..fun stuff

Once you find a L10 weapon you should be straight to wreck the L10 world. It's unfortunate you can't put your pixels in a bank.

Good news about that is the refinery--it shits pixels, and you can essentially store your money in ores that won't fade when you die. You can just ride low pixels (if you're doing +5 content) and then when you need to craft something, you can turn ore into money (+5 copper, +10 iron, +15 silver, +20 gold -- and iron is fucking everywhere, lol)

edit: Also, fuck, Florans have the absolute worst racial armor. Any chance you're a glitch and can craft me the glitch set? :P

Our racial is unfortunately useless 90% of the time. Not much sunlight in the caves or dungeons. Whereas the glitch racial is insaaane. Faster mining = my shit.

It's tied to the armor though, not your race. So if you've got a buddy who's playing a Glitch, just have him craft you a set. I assume this will become a non issue at max lvl.

Yep haha...but it still works on mobs that cant smash. I am lvl 4ish I think at the moment on this level 10 world..i just trap anything that attacks me and hack it to death through the wall. Trying to find silver to finish my armor set

So far other then some graphical stuff I have encountered zero bugs. Which is surprising because their disclaimer for this stage of beta stated it would be a shitshow bugwise.

They have been quick to patch in feedback from players. Very happy with my $15 dorra purchase so far.

Yeah, he's a puppy. He had his jaw broken and they had to do surgery on him to correct it (screws and wires). It was let him heal naturally (it wouldn't heal, had tissue on one side and a tooth on the other keeping it from healing), put him down, or pay for the surgery.

Easier for me to live with myself and my dog if I just don't have the extra cash to throw around.

Just finished the tier 2 boss. Similar terrain sploits--made a little spot where i could hop up and down and pop his legs--in hindsight, the block lay speed is so fast you really could just trap all the bosses in dirt and smack em through it.

Also, that boss would've been near impossible regularly. He hit me once--for fucking 93. I couldn't find better than the bonesmith's armor...still can't. Gonna be zergy to get that platinum / titanium for the next 2 sets :p

I'm having the hardest time finding enough gold to make the damn t2 armor. I have literally assloads of steel and all I need is like 60 bars worth of gold to progress but I come across maybe a vein worth about 4 bars every 3 or so hours.

I've honestly found armor to be near worthless post racial set 2. It's best to just go to the highest possible grass / arid / forest w/e you can in your sector, wall in an enemy or two / find chests to find a max tier weapon, then go wall in the tier boss. I'm currently going through the final tiers (rubium and crap) doing this and still wearing garbage armor--and it really doesn't matter. You'll get one shot and how low pixels, but when you need pixels you can just refine what you need.

Also, platinum isn't available as a mineable until L40 worlds, so the platinum / titanium armor sets are near impossible to attain prior to the tier 3 boss. Shit needs tons of balancing, but at least you can sploitkill the things you have to to move on. Hoping that when I get to a max threat level planet I'll be able to finally have my armor on a level where i can take a hit or two from trash :P

You are right, there are a ton of balancing issues to address but this is early stage 1/3 beta so I have very high hopes for this game...it already is very fun and once its tuned I think it will beat terraria hands down.

We have 3 as well. We give them a bath once a week tho and empty their litterboxes 2-3 times a day. Very little smell to ours...in fact everyone who comes over seems pretty amazed as they are used to stinky ferrets. Also, we have a baby gate on our office doorway so our ferrets have a 15x10 "cage" and just live there, not being confined to a small cage most likely helps with smell. Only downside is one likes to bite my feet if im wearing socks while sitting at my computer lol.

Also, the game is insanely speed runnable atm. You just go to the highest threat planet, snag a weapon from a box or a boxed in humanoid npc on the surface, make boss spawner, trap him on the terrain because pathing / collision is fucking hilarious atm, and move on. Highest tier has these schematics required to move to impervium tier, but crafting the individual armor sets is just so pointless as shit will still 1 shot you on any threat level higher than your current defense. So you use your high weapon to 1 shot them first or simply just trap them in blocks and move on/kill. Refinery handles pixel issues so death is a non issue--and pixels really aren't important past the first tier either as only a few things need to be crafted.

Game has some issues, their algorithms for procedural generation need tons of work (constraints) but it's a fantastic base.

edit: A glaring issue...Platinum is not available in ore form outside of very lucky chest drops until a threat 40 world (highest threat lvl planet). Unfortunately, it's needed for the 25 defense armors, which are precursors to titanium armor (30 defense armors) which means you'll have to fight the tier boss of that level in like 15ish armor gear. Insane 1 shot every time, and he has projectile attacks that break blocks so unless he gets fully collision bugged and stops attacking, he's going to facefuck you deeply and tenderly. Tiy mentioned in recent dev notes (for a patch tomorrow in the afternoon iirc) that they're experimenting with the defense / ARP system, because as it stands, it just does not make for intuitive gameplay.

I had a ferret growing up and this is the exact reason why I don't like wearing socks when I'm chilling at my computer. It's just a habit now but back then that little bastard was a straight up foot terror.

I remember years after I had moved out my parents had finally replaced their furniture. Underneath each sofa they found a giant pile of dog food (which he obviously stole from their little cairn terrier) tons of popcorn and easily $20 in pocket change. That little bastard really lived up to his name Loki.

Heallun, go to one of the avian air ships there are gun merchants in the top left room. The guns are kind of whatever but there is a decent selection. Also did they fix the dupe yet?

Uncertain, but I just wanted to post and let everyonw know that there is yet ANOTHER character wipe coming r/t the weapon damage bug. Tier 2 weapons got just over 5000 dps, lol. So close~

I can't play this version that they patched. It's playable for periods of a few minutes then like clockwork it dips my CPU usage up to 100% and causes mayhem. I had a constant 60fps with first beta version so not sure what's going on with this one. Doesn't seem like many people are having this issue either.
