Idea -- Make rival guilds PVP?

Is there a way on the server to flag specific guilds as PVP against each other? For example, members of TMO you are automatically flagged PVP red towards any member of IB and vice versa.

If so -- wonder what would happen? :confused:

No one would want this because this is a blue server. If the high end crowd wanted pvp they would go to red.

haha, That'd be awesome! The GM's should do this next time we annoy them with petty bullshit. Each guilds low level tracker would get owned. The AFK autofire people would die. People wouldn't engage mobs until they had a force to handle it and their apposing guild.

Screw the /guildwar let Roegan simply flag one guild vs another on a random basis every so often, maybe even on April 1st?

Guild Wars and the /guildwar command were fun and very much part of the classic experience on non-pvp servers back in the day.

That being said, you asked for thoughts on a specific idea, and mine would be that flagging specific guilds to be pvp towards each other would be a step towards customizing the server in a designer fashion, and was not part of the original classic experience.

People play blue because there is no REAL pvp server around. Team99 will change it tho and make blue a wasteland

Would be hilarious if the GMs did a "GM event" and flagged TMO and IBFE except after C for a /guildwar when competing for raid mobs. Just for one day. Record it and the glory of that day would last until the end of time. Cmon Sirken, DO IT.

some of my favorite memories of EQ live were of guildwars back in the day. I was in two seperate quildwars that each lasted over the course of a few days. Being able to ambush a rival from another 'House', or having to watch your back at all times and do your best not to travel around alone made for some intense pvp battles, which would usually culminate with both houses amassing their forces in Nro, and then the unleashing of hell. good times good times :)

Wrong. Blue was here before Red. People just want to hang onto their max toons and pixels. Also EQ PVP is shit, people on blue do not care to waste time especially if you are top raid guild getting more pixels easy. Why would they switch to red? PVP is so much better on other games.

Lets try this in Veeshan's Peak first, where it actually has already started albeit on a smaller scale. A bunch of TMO/FE monks/necros have flagged themselves PVP to prevent rival guildmates from taking agro of them during training contests (how lame does this sound to begin with? rofl) and to get some PVP action in, I guess.

I've always wanted to see 2 large guilds /guildwar and form up in ranks facing each other in one of the Karanas, then charge like the battles in Braveheart, Lord of the Rings or most other battles of the past, lol.

Maybe the best world pvp in classic. But as far as mechanics, skill involved, balance, ....etc....probably the worst pvp out of any game I've ever played. I mean there's a million reason why EQ pvp is terrible. Just too many reasons to get into really.

EQ pvp was cool back in the day because of the amount of world pvp. We got to kill whoever we wanted and take whatever we wanted(mobs) in the world we loved.
