alecta, plz fix melee hit rate and the way spell interupts is calculated based on number of melee hits. i remember you responded to it in the other thread by posting the code, but have you changed anything for next patch?

melee = pushing = interrupting spell casting = you cant cast
whats wrong with it?

that's not how it works. null added a custom code that gives melee attacks a 5% chance to interupt a spell, which stacks up to 100 percent. this was added in classic when melees were underpowered and never taken out in kunark. alecta posted the //note from the code, but didn't give any indication as to whether this would be removed.

but yet im attaacking straight casters with nightfall nothing at all gets interrupted? makes sense right? a 17 delay weapon hitting and not interrupting?

AC doesn't mitigate damage in pvp, so 1handed attacks land too often and do too much damage. which is why every warrior/monk/rogue/ranger rolls around with 1handers instead of 2handers like on live, if resist rates are getting changes to make nukes harder to land, melee damage needs to be reduced.

if there was a way rogues roll around with 2hp i'd roll around and just pull stasis only, dueliest then log off.

naw. two caster classes have spells that land, wizards and druids, but every melee class is broken. i know melees are overpowered because everyone who plays a caster to 60 quickly rolls a melee as soon as they see that melee damage is broken.

i agree. fix interupt modifier on melee hits, decrease 1h damage/hit rate, slightly increase 2handed damage.

cant count the number of times ive been bs'ed by a spectre or an elderan from the front... multiple feet away faceing face.


BS was incredibly hard to land on live in a duel even post PoP

guess who re rolled a melee?

BS incredibly hard to land here as well, but for other reasons.

Player movement is MUCH more jittery, and the models/hitboxes far more out of sync here than it ever was on live, even on dial up. Movement prediction often becomes next to impossible because of this. The larger hitbox was implemented I believe to counter those issues, and rightly so.

Its honestly not worth the large hitbox just because sometimes people glitch out in kc/seb/com/tt for the first 30 sec u zone into that zone.

I've been interrupted via push by monks with 2 hb on several occasions, even with back to the wall. On 1 occasion during pvp i noticed it happen about 3 or 4 times in a row, but I had levitate on which may cause push to be easier to accomplish.

In PvP, even if you are back in a corner each melee hit has like a 5% chance to interrupt your casting with no cap on the percentage. (Not my idea, Null put that in.)

it's not 20% chance, its almost 20% guaranteed at this point with the high rate at which melees land 1handed hits. if melee 2handed damage is hitting for the minimum too often, then 1handed damage is hitting for way more than it should and more often that it should. please address this in the next patch alecta.

Yep, this needs attention. On live it was almost impossible to interrupt without an actual stun ability. Casters channeled right through monk, rog and war 1h quads.

Combine the insane interrupt chance with what is clearly unclassic melee pvp dps, and casters are dogfood on R99. In the 6 seconds it takes to cast a nuke/dot/debuff, a rogue has killed you 2x over and interrupts almost every single round.

Also, the miss rate is way off classic - melees rarely miss, and they hit for near max dmg far too often (live had more variation).

This will get much worse come Velious.

+Melee attacks are too hard to channel through.
+900+ AC and 200+ defense should mean something. Hit rate is like 95 %, should be like ~60 % on high ac target. 400 Double Backstabs on a decked out 60 warrior shouldn't be happening. Backstab should be doing minimum damage much much more on high ac targets.
+1hander damage should be mitigated much more due to armor.
+2hander damage like oggok cleaver should not hit for less than ~50 damage.
+Hitboxes are much bigger than on live
+connecting hits was harder on live, warriors pvping with dual wield is not a classic mechanic and is a result of larger hitbox + AC not working.

AC has nothing to do with avoidance. It is a stat that increases your mitigation. Also, until the two hander patch mid velious, there is no minimum two hand damage or bonus. They suck until then in almost all scenarios other than jousting.

monk/rogue/warrior seem to have insane hit rate, on the sk i can barely hit anything, but i'm not 60 yet so can't speak for it really

i feel like rogues need to be toned down, those double 1000 backstabs i never saw in velious, seems strange they happening so much on kunark gear

Rogues are retarded here, the melee buff implemented during classic on this server was never intended to make endgame Kunark rogues into gods.

nukes are also much stronger than they should be

nerf direct damage nukes and melee hit rate at the same time, and you will see much longer, more drawn out fights that are more skill based and lead to an overall much better pvp experience

Eh I remember rogues blowing up people in plate too... clerics, SKs and bards at least in their respective Velious class armor.

I don't think it has as much of an impact on reducing a possible max hit as it should in making a max hit less likely.

I didn't roll a plate myself in PvP on live, only played a few twink SKs (to 50+, but still) and it had an impact especially twinked up at lower lvls but higher I remember max hits rolling in pretty steadily.

Would need Kringe/Gabuk (Kergan) input imo.

Pretty much. Make things classic > nerf doe. Naked players should get butchered still.

does anyone else have the issue where they are hit by melee attacks 100% of the time? I literally can't remember the last time someone missed me when using melee in pvp.
