I would put this in server chat but we all know it'll just get sent to rnf...cause complaints about the new rules are welcome here too
What do u guys think, assuming minor amendments are made to cover the "what ifs" that are being posted, the raid scene will look like in 6 months, 12 months, assume velious comes out in the 12 months portion and 6 months is the period starting this week until velious rolls out.
I'd ask people not to sit here and be like "fuck you chest, bda, casual scum, etc" but what are your predictions?

2 guild disbandings and 3 raid suspensions.
6months im sure casuals burn out for the most part, 12 months hopefully velious and thriving or kunark, dead low end server

many of these 'casuals' you speak of have been on this server since 2009 when it was created....
So I don't think you will see an inordinate amount of casual burn out that is any different than normal EQ burn out.
Nice try though.

I'll be forming pick up raids for VS, Draco, and Faydedar once every 1-2 weeks for anyone that wants to come and random.

Hardcore raiders somehow think that the new rules will burnout casuals. They don't realize most casual guilds raid at least 3 times a week, but now they'll be killing dragons somtimes instead of clearing fear/hate. Basically they're just crying, trying to convince themselves that the server will be dead because the GMs didn't do what they wanted. The Ocean of Tears is filling up quickly.
lol nice predictions, haters
Casuals burn out a lot faster then hardcores, and most hardcore guilds have tons of turn over people who break/quit.
but youll believe what you want

I would guess that in 6 months a bunch of the Class R guilds lose interest in all but the high-end R mobs (for epics) and many of the lower end dragons get left up for the 6 hours or whatever and the Class C ends up getting those on a regular basis too.

Wait....So casuals raid hate/fear/chardok for 3 years straight....then you think after 6 months of dragons and real raid mobs that they'll finally burnout?!? Hardcore players actually think like this? I...but...umm...errr....

Most of those casuals did burn out. Welcome to the server Reiguy. You have been here how long?
I guess we will see wont we! Good luck to everyone. would love to see more perdictions
Casuals fuel RMT you think hardcore players buy shit from anyone, the answer is no......they were the sellers... this is basic stuff here.
Flow of economics
Without discussing dynamics like these its all a fallacy.
Thats just that main reason casuals wont last long, imho

I'm sure some casuals will burn out. Just as hardcores burn out. But there will always be more people to replenish the ranks of those who have fallen, so long as this server isn't completely dead. That wont happen for years after Velious hits. But if this guy thinks that after 6 months of raiding new content then the casual scene will completely give up/burn out...he's wrong. Don't know what else to say.

Casual Scene isnt the same as casuals... this guy was claiming lots of INDIVIDUAL casuals would burn out.

my prediction hardcores cry for 6 months about losing pixels, demand a change or they will threaten to leave claiming the server won't survive without the hardcore playerbase, 0 fucks are given, hardcores either A) leave and server rejoice B) STFU and live with it and the server rejoices!

I've heard a lot of people(mainly "hardcores") say that they think that casuals will burn out with the new raid scene. I'm actually curious why they think casual burnout will be more prevalent with the new system than with the old.

Just trying to plant the seed of doubt in their casuals minds.

I personally don't think they will "burn out" in their minds, but will eventually stop killing things regularly that aren't related directly to epics.
The hardcore player raids and kills to raid and kill. Loot and epics are kind of an afterthought. I'd bet more hardcore raiders burn out more from lack of competition than raiding too much.

That's a good point, but I think the "hardcores" that RMT are most likely hardcore farmers, hardcore EC rats and IB when they stomped their feet to EQMac.

So like a hunter who only hunts for sport?
At least you realize you are a dirt bag, the next step is to stop being proud of it.

This is like having Wesley Snipers tell you to "Always bet on black".
I'm hoarding Monsanto's wares and all the class 2 arrows to prep for a P99/Rust hybrid.

Why are hunters who only hunt for sport also dirt bags? Competition is fun, whether it's outsmarting a deer with bow or outsmarting other guilds when racing for a target. I don't expect everyone to understand why it's fun. In fact, I imagine most so-called "casuals" will never understand it themselves unless they transform themselves into "hard cores"--which does happen.
I think Rak's prediction about hardcores burning out due to a lack of competition is about right. The casuals who stay casuals will simply stop killing dragons they don't need for epics and such, and the raid scene will continue as before the current raid scene with "C" guilds going after dragons they don't need for the sake of killing them, and the "R" guilds will let them do it because it's simply not their thing.
The only way this doesn't happen pre-Velious is if sufficient numbers of "R" members replace the old ones, but I'm not persuaded that the server population refreshes itself with the number of new people that this would require.
