Wanting to try and get as much info as I can about the mighty Ice Giants in Everfrost Peaks. I am currently 44 druid with 1842 mana, I do have a Lumi staff in my bank waiting for me to hit 46 so that I can use it's effect. Wondering what tips one might be able to provide as I understand I am still a bit low to be quad kiting them/Root Rotting etc...
Any help would be much appreciated, All I know is they have a crap ton of HP and that's why I haven't bothered to try them yet. I don't know that I have the mana pool to be able to do much with even one of them..
Cheers'
;)

i wasnt kidding, you can down all 3 of the uglies with little mana spent other than charm, snare, flame lick, and some weak ass dot. not gonna spell it out for ya but imo better than quad kiting unless you like to afk.

I'm pretty sure there are way better places to exp at 44 as a druid.
Hit city of mist until you can use lumi staff, then go to timorous deep and quad spirocs till lvl 52 or 53. They slow down a lot at 52 but you can still get solid exp there until 53 if you get lucky on watcher/proven spawns.
At 53 you can go back to COM or check out KC, root rotting is legit exp if you're patient and even more legit if you have an ench around to c2 you. I would probably avoid charming till 55 atleast, or 56 when you get the good root. Its doable before 55 but can get sketchy with charm breaking so randomly.
Charming exp is probably best at permafrost bear pits, but your probably going to need a friend to help you get down there and set your bind spot in a safe place.

If you think you are going to Quad Kite those Ice Giants you are on drugs. :D You would need 5,000 mana, and you would still die. Best listen to Sam.

You can quad them when you get new AE at 49 - takes about 10 casts so ~2300-2400 mana.

And by then how much XP you going to get off a 38-42 mob?? Best to take Tass's advice and go to CoM or KC at 49.

Why would you kill Ice Giants for exp? They drop sightly less than Seafuries.
I did most of 53 there so the exp isn't that bad, like 2% for 3 giants.
His advice was Spirocs at 49, which is right if you are just wanting exp.

CoM at the Stables has just endless mobs when grouping. I doubt you could ever solo faster than that spot grouping at level 44.

Probably, but any group with a druid in it is already worse off than any other class. May as well stick to soloing while it's easy.

druids are actually good in groups if they arent trying to just play backup cleric.
damage shields for one are agro free very cheap dps. when im in groups with druids that arent dsing (and mages for that matter) i be like

Can't remember the last time I got invited to a group as a Druid... Then again it's been awhile since I put up LFG.
But so rarely does a group say "let's look for a Druid". Like they do for tanks, clerics, shamans and enchanters.

Druids are damn good healers in a group till 50. After that, well Oh Boy. You NEED a Enchanter to slow and cast Clarity on you. A lot depends who is in the group. If the puller is good and the tank is good well healers are not that stressed. Have a puller that is crap and even a Cleric is in trouble. :D:D
Any healer is better than no healer. If the group slows down even a Druid can heal a mid 50's group. You just can't go non stop or pull the Boss of the zone. But even a Shaman is not as good as a Cleric doing the top mob in a zone.
Complete Heal is just over the top in those situations.

If Druids didn't have the gap from 29-51 with just Greater Healing, it wouldn't be too bad. But the end of that gap hurts for healing as a Druid. 50~ mobs can outdo your heal in 2 hits or 1 cast/backstab. Which sucks.
Then at 60 all the high end camps in HS/Sebilis superior healing by itself can cut it, it is just tedious and a bit more dangerous. Once Velious gives Druids Nature's Touch it will help the issue a bit. But still won't ever come close to the efficiency of a torpor or CH.
Luclin largely fixed the imbalance of Druid vs Shaman healing with Tunare's Renewal. Shame we won't get that here.
Tl;dr as a main healer Druids are weak. But smart Druids can fill many other roles in a group at high levels.

Duos and trios involving charm animal are the tops.

Chardok is about the only 50+ location you can group with a charmed pet. And people don't group there much. Even if AoE groups were removed.
Permafrost bear pit and Kedge Keep also work but those locations there isn't really any reason to group. Soloing is far more efficient/less tedious (cause very few people have an interest to travel to Kedge or Permafrost at these levels)
High 40s in Sol B you can charm sonic bats
High 30s in LGuk you can charm bats (have to go out of your way to do this)
High 30s in OT you can charm most everything
Velious there will be more options 50+ for groups to have Druid charmers iirc.
Kael will have dogs to charm
Siren's Grotto will have all sorts of sea creatures to charm
Western Wastes will have Velious hounds and brontetherium to charm
Beyond charm, Druids make excellent pullers and Root CCers at high level. Our root is quite reliable and long lasting, and what puller can heal themself like a Druid can! DPS (sans charm) is pretty meh (with charm awesome). They can snare/root runners easily and evac if problems arise. Damage shield is 32 per hit, assuming 10-20 successful hits a mob that's a decent 320-640 damage added and DS should stick around for 5-6 mobs if chain pulling. Quite mana efficient. Add in ES Vambraces every mob for free 300ish damage if mobs are lasting for a full minute. If only single mobs in camp and you're in an outdoor zone like Karnor's you can use Lumi staff as a ghetto JBB.

At 44, stock up on bat wings and fish scales and head to LOIO. The middle of the lake with the blood gills. They're lvl 38-42 or something (like 1 lvl higher min/max then spectres) with only about 1300 hp (400 less than a spectre). Each of the towers in the middle of the water has 2-4 goblins hanging around it, makes for an easy pull then run out of the water to land and do your quad. They'll carry you to 52-53 if you want them to.
