I'm thinking about rolling an Ogre SK and am curious on what good starting stats are. I don't know too much of how my gear will affect me late game.

Any tips?

None in to STR at all?

Well, Ogres start below the AGI penalty. If you get gear with AGI on it's ok (I think it's 75?), then you can dump the 5 in STR if you want. You're gonna be a tank though, so the extra 5 STR isn't going to mean much.

Have to agree, as an ogre SK you will be max strength by your mid 30's.

Let's face it you are not a DPS class and that extra strength is not going to do much for you aside from letting you carry more.

That suggests adding to Dexterity? Really? That guide is terrible.

Well the stat suggestions are terrible, but to be fair, we know a lot more about what makes a good SK now than anybody did then.

The rest of the guide is okay, and you gotta love the old-school drawing.

I made a human - I forget just what I did... Think I balanced it between STA and STR.
Maybe I did 5 less in STR and put it in AGI.

Keep in mind, gear will make up for some as you go. You are likely to see SK gear leaning towards: STR/STA and some Int probably. You can always 'lean' another way if you want as you go.

It's not overly critical. Stamina's always a good bet, if you do in fact max it out, you can always look for gear with other stats on it.

That guide says not to put any stats in stamina because the converstion of stamina because "the number of hitpoints gained from increasing this statistic is very minimal."

Does anyone know the formula for conversion of STA to hit points? What exactly do you get for maxing STA at say, level 20?

STA gets you virtually nothing until later levels. At 20, even for a tank, it is about 1sta==1hp.

@level 35 10 sta -> 28 hp

You only have 20 points to work with..I would Say STA ( the added HPS are Huge at 60) Int( more mana with the Level 60 taps that can translate into more survivability) and Also Dex is another Option to increase how often you hit... and that all depends on how hits are coded here.... I would personaly but 15 -20 in only 1 of the above and possibly 5 in agi to break 75.

instead of starting a new thread, thought i'd try and hijack this one...

hows about monk starting stats? if agi/dex scale so poorly, might as well go 20 into sta? or str for the damage, or split 10/10?

Ogre SK - 5agi, the rest go into stamina

As for monk, I'd probably go full Stamina on here
