Tons of Casinos!

So there seems to me a steady flood of casinos online recently, which is awesome! Some of you think otherwise, which everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Instead of complaining about seeing random rolls everywhere and instantly ignoring someone why don't you just turn off the filter for random rolls when it gets crazy. Idk just a thought, lots of casinos also sell items, and normally for good prices so why miss out. :)

LOL sweet you saw that conversation!!! That's called Roleplaying.. something not many people actually do on p99. I'm friends with most of the casino's, some of us have agreed to pay royalties on games that we didn't invent in order to host them at our casino (Games like Classic 1k Blackjack and Fungi Random's no one has to pay royalties for because those games have been around forever) . For example Pantywaist came up with a really really unique DnD Casino game. If I would like to run it I have to pay him to be able to offer that same game at my casino. (It's just something we're doing for fun) Nothing is stopping anyone from stealing some of these unique games and hosting their own casino... except for the fact that most of the other casinos in tunnel all agree to this royalty clause and do you really wanna be that one casino that doesn't want to be part of the fun.


Also to answer your question why casino's hang around T1, it's simple.. you have the chance to draw in more of a crowd when other people are betting at your casino. Most people sit around T1, you wanna be where the people are. Nothing is stopping you from ignoring I was just simply offering a different solution :)

I can't say I disagree that sometimes some of us spam our rates a little too often. We all try and watch each other for that and we let each other know when someone's getting outta hand with the rate spam.(At least recently) As far as RMT's anything can be used for RMT's but I understand the concern

Just saying.. forum attention is not good if you want it to last.

To advertise in game is one thing; people can just /ignore if they don't like you. But to bring this kind of attention to it on the forums is going to also get the attention of the people who can and will eventually shut it all down. The whole internet can see these forums, and as tinfoil hat as it may sound, the devs don't want this place to be searchable on google as a RMT gambling haven.

so the max spam of selling items,(some people spamm hard) but the people playing at casinos are a bad spamm, good.

the casinos are there, and if they are there, is because people plays them.

I hate these jackholes. They just spam the auction channel all night with their walls of text about bonus prizes, funny names, coerced catch phrases and the worst paort is its like one guy with 16 alts, it's so obvious.. he spams us for a half hour at a time on each character so no one gets mad

you know what, never mind, obviously the point of my OP didn't get through just stick to your /ignore and miss out on cool things sometimes no harm done :-P Since people can't share spots and apparently T1 is for trader's only I'll be the bigger man here and try and get all of us to Shady. (No promises but Ill start the movement)

Also for those who do have me on ignore, Fungi Raffle at 3pm EST, at Shady. I plan on selling tickets for a 2nd Fungi Drawing after the first one

I wouldn't mind at all if you could turn /ran off completely ignoring the person works but i dont want to stand there adding 50 people to my ignore list a night because of roll spam

I think the casinos are cool, although I don't play them. That being said, they should move to the Shady Swashbuckler. From an RP and courtesy perspective, it's just better. It's not the /ooc or /auction spam that bothers me, it's the /ran spam. Move to Shady swashbuckler and people who want to game will go there. Hell, you might even get some bored traders to move there so they can gamble while they sell.

Players shouldn't have to alter their UI/filters to not be annoyed by someone. In the long term, it does your business good to not be on the /ignore list of everyone that comes to EC when you are operating. I wish you all luck and I'm curious about some of your games. What's the minimum and maximum bet for your games, Tookie? And what games do you offer?

In the end we all must remember that casinos bring jobs to P99 for people who may otherwise be unemployed.

I think player run Casinos are stupid and I'd ban anyone who advertised one if I ran the show.

Lucky for them, I don't. Although it was a glorious time in FFXI when they cracked down hard on RMT and started banning thousands of accounts each quarter for RMT activity. The Casinos disappeared overnight.

I love the casinos, and all the more roleplaying I been seeing going on! I would hate to see them go.. I mean, I was able to buy some vegetable pie and vegetable stew the other day from the grocer!

While I can understand all the randoms could be annoying... but if you are just porting through, you will not see them long. If you are going to be there a while, just filter it off? Or like some have said, limit the auctions per such and such whatever.

Personally, I like it all as it is... It is kind of like what gives the game part of its charm. A lot of socializing, (and now roleplaying) goes on there.

If you move them to highkeep, I highly doubt anyone would go there just to play casinos. Call me lazy, I know I wouldn't.

I'm not forcing you to move, I'm merely pointing out that what you're doing is extremely annoying to people who come through there and will ultimately hurt your business in the long run. When 90% of the server has you on ignore due to the incessant rolling near t1, who will be your customers?

The whole OP is to get players to alter their UI to accommodate your business, but doesn't that alone tell you that people are not happy with the way it's being operated currently?

You might want to reconsider your stance, because I think they banned player run casinos on live.

Just spam it when someone tries to play. Had a few casino runners ask me to stop, I asked them to move to shady.

I put tookie on ignore a few days ago because I was sick of him filling not just auction but ooc and shout with his fungi raffle nonsense, but this sounds like an even more fun way to spend time in ec.

Ill admit sometimes I over spam.. (everyone does it once in a while) but I really do try and make a conscious effort to not over do it. I use shout for newer ideas but now that the raffles are a big success, you'll see less of it through shout. Either way, I rather have jerks put me on ignore, gives not jerks more a chance to win my free giveaways. So on second thought ignore my OP and please put me on ignore if u dont like my casino. Rather have nicer people win cool things :)
