New Player Saying "Hi"

Hey everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself to the server. I just joined and made an Ogre Shaman (loving that evil shaman leveling guide btw BlkCamel!)

I played EQ Live way back in the day as a Halfling Paladin (Feebox) on Karana and am glad to be coming back. I've only heard great things about this server. I never played an evil race/class before and so I figured now would be the perfect time to do so.

So far I'm level 4 in the Feerott and loving it. The name is Shamjoo. Hi everyone, looking forward to playing with all of you.

Well I finished the night last night grinding away on mobs just outside of Guk and hit level 6. It is so great to be playing here again. I haven't had much interaction at all with other players at the moment since the zone I'm in is relatively desolate aside, but I'm still loving it. After all, my reaction after hearing about a classic EQ server that is well populated and seems to have a cool community?

I also rolled am Ogre shammy as my first char on this server a couple of days ago, lvl 7 and hanging around Feerott/Innothule. Name is Pamperz, send me a tell if you see me online and want to duo stuff or just chat or whatever, always looking for things to spice the grind up a bit.

EC has on average of over 100 people in it at a time. Most are in the tunnel but with 2 Orc camps and other mobs a lot to do for low level people. Not counting buffs which help a ton till like level 10 or so.

Got my ogre sham to about lvl 7 last night. Been busy lately so only casual play has been allowed lately. Either way, I'm loving the class but heard that my friend who's in the military has a higher lvl shaman (mid 30s iirc). Currently he's on deployment and I haven't heard from him really in a while and I'm not sure when he will return, but would probably love to play with me when he does come back.

Question: should I continue with my sham here or play a different class? I really want to be a class that is need/fun to play in raids, is good at solo (i.e. when my friend is gone), and is also desired in groups. That's why I felt shaman would be perfect, also because I want that epic!

Well you picked correctly then. Gearing and spells are expensive at higher level - beware
