Hello,
I was wondering if it is against the rules to log on to a friend's account to help them keep up in levels. My group has people with varying amounts of play time, and sometimes they aren't all able to play at the same time. I am not asking about boxing - I know that is not allowed. I would only be playing on either my account or my friend's at any given time.
Anyone happen to know if this is okay or not?
Thanks!

you are allowed to share access to an account, but can only have a single account logged in per IP at a time.

Ban this two-boxing scum.
I really hope this isn't an example of the community at large. I've met some nice people on the server, but maybe I am expecting too much?

I think he was just screwing with you. The vast majority of players are great I've found :)

WOW - no kidding. These rules are in place to foster community, but it seems some of the neighbors aren't friendly.

Officially, the staff doesn't support it.
Unofficially, it's fine and people do it all the time and it's not something that's bannable.

People can share accounts. I recall that this was frowned upon on Live back in the early years. If you let a guide know that your account was shared, a note was made (soul mark) to this effect and no help with compromised accounts would be offered in the future.
On P99, many people share accounts. Guilds typically have banker accounts, tracker accounts, port character accounts, etc which many in the guild have access to. Do remember though, that if you let a friend log on your account and they do something stupid (use cheating programs, intentionally train people, etc) your account can and will be subject to disciplinary actions including banning so choose wisely.

this post (http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84384) should answer your question.
Just remember, what you do on that account, or what your friend may do on your account can be punishable, and if it's found you or your friend did something on the others' account which is worthy of a ban you will have no defense. You cannot say, "But, Billy my friend was on my account and decided to log in his account to trade items, that's it!", and expect them to be understanding.

one of my accounts got banned because someone that got in trouble logged on to it more than a year ago. be very careful on letting others have your info.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.
I know this friend in real life, so I don't have to worry about bad behavior or account security issues. We're a good bunch!

An overwhelming majority of people on this server are friendly and helpful. There is a small toxic subset of the population that gets their jollies by trolling others on the forums (and in-game to an extent). Once you are here awhile you learn who these people are and that you should just ignore them.

It's just this need people have of getting the witty, make everyone laugh and approve of you as a forumquester, shut you down and burn you first post. It makes them feel like they grew higher in the forum chain and win at the internets. Funny thing is, he did win at the internets. You fucking boxer. <3 u
