Similar to the warrior twink thread I'm curious... what would be the best twink gear to get an Ogre SK?

Nope. Only the highest worn haste works (the same with spell/song haste), but spell and worn haste stack.

Shm and enc haste don't stack.
Mith 2 Hdr + FBSS don't stack.

The only exception to this is Melody of Ervaj which will stack with everything else but I believe was a Luclin song anyhow but I though I would add it anyhow.

Correct.

You can probably skip both and save yourself a ton of money since SK is not a DPS class and doesn't really rely on frequent swings to maintain aggro.

My SK has a Mith 2hander and I can solo efficiently for XP. Works for me.

bards get a regular haste song that doesnt stack with other hastes, but i think that 30s haste only song is an overcap haste, which is for a while the only way to stack spell based hastes.

If you group a SK and Bard together, they'll have 3 months of leveling to 50 to figure out exactly the best haste/song combo!

also, another thing I'd like to add: if there's a difference between the stackability of the 36 haste song and the earlier haste song (the one that adds Strength too), I'd like to know.

There are 3 hastes~ V1, V2, and V3
V1 = item
V2 = spell/song
V3 = overhaste (brd only in any timeline we'll see here)

item is fbss, swirlspine, bassoon haste etc, which stacks additively with v2, spell/song which includes all ench/shm hastes. V3 is what's known as 'overhaste' and can stack with v1 and v2. Unfortunately the first v3 haste is composition of ervaj, a velious song (and the first cap breaking v3 haste is warsong of the vah shir, which is luclin, which *should* never see the light of day here).

** small note ** Spells / songs with added effects onto the hastes like bard songs / augmentation / visions of grandeur, the added stats apply even when the hastes do not apply (though I've personally had some issues with this. Try applying the augmentation first then the quickness line to see if they'll stack o_O).

What's this mean for your SK?

In classic -> Use a M2H until you get something really baller like a soul leech or perhaps a razing sword of skarlon, then whore yourself out for an RBB (which can include prostitution or a guild, your choice really)

In Kunark -> nothing changes except the availability of haste items, RBGs flow like rain, and sky will become more accessible to the casual attendee.

In Velious -> fight off the other hundreds of warriors, monks and rogues for stormfeather and gechu an eyepatch of plunder D=

Edit: I'm not familiar with how this particular server is coded, but the haste cap i'm familiar with is 100% which is quite difficult to hit, so don't worry too much about not having a cap breaker D= (someone told me something about a 60% haste cap at 50, but it seemed like a buncha crock, who knows :P)

as far as i recall the cap was indeed 100% for haste from items and spells combined (v1 and v1 type haste). however, the bard overhaste (v3) song could put you over that limit as it wasn't capped making it a very useful song.

as for how it is in p1999, that's for the developers to reveal

rule of thumb, if you have a shaman or a chanter in group dont sing regular haste (overhaste song is still good). you can instead use that extra song in the twist for something else useful
