Come one come all!

As a relative newbie to the Red99 scene I thought it might be a good idea to reach out to Blue99 and anyone who might be on the fence about joining on Red. My personal experience until now has shown that most people on R99 are in fact not nearly as toxic as the forumquest scene might lead you to believe! We are missing a solid low level grouping scene, and overall more players would help to make for a fun server!

In an effort to bring new life to Red99 I would like to propose an event!

In 2 weeks from today a 1v1 tourney max lvl 29 pvp tourney on Red99 will take place. The winner will receive a Fungi from yours truly. If we can get enough people to sign up, I'm certain we can get more prizes and participation set up.

RULES:
-Any and all equipment used in the tourney must be self acquired/ able to be camped at your level (Monks with FBSS and T-Staff need not participate).
-Self buffs only.
-No outside interference.
-1v1 brackets will be set up at random.
-No de-leveling from 60 to roll face. screenshot must be provided to prove start date of your toon. -Not sure how to regulate powerleveled toons?

This is just what I've been able to conjure up on my own. Open to ideas and improvements.

Sounds like fun for sure! For anyone leveling it can be harder to find a group on red at times, so winning a fungi would certainly help the likes of monks/hybrids/etc ;)

i dont understand why there isnt a community drive behind having a larger redserver population. everquest is meant to be a pvp game. not having pvp limits the types of interactions and really waters down the game. i think there should be a huge community push and conversation started about the future of everquest IN pvp.

But EQ was deffinetly not designed for pvp, at all. Can it be fun at times? I'm sure it can be, but its far from the focus of everquest as a game and its terrrrrrrribly balanced.

Get a good laugh at people flaming the red server. Blue so overloaded with gear/platinum people are giving the best droppable items away out of boredom.

Hit 60 and get in the back of the line for your epic/raid gear as you compete with neckbeards that have been downing the same raid content on a consistent basis for 3 years. 1300 people with bottlenecks for epics = kill yourself.

Serious question: have you ever given red 99 a fair shake? The forum is enough to turn anyone away, but it is not the way the server actually is that I've seen. If more people like yourself, ie those hesitant because they think the community is shit (right?), came to red, the community would 180 overnight.

an afterthought is an overstatement. They just caved in to popular demand and created a few servers where you could hurt other players. No thinking went into it, and they only applied the most rudimentary band-aids to the most glaring problems.

Charasis/HS tends to be "bring your own group", not many people go in lfg casually.

Chardok is often locked down by the fat cat AOE groups trying to make plat by helping people level quickly. End game powerleveling if you like.

So you're left with KC, which is way overpopulated... or Sebilis, which is better but becoming equally busy lately :/
