I was just wondering about which expansion wiped out your server. Alot of people played up until luclin then quit, but there was still a large amount of people playing on my server (Rallos, then Zek). From what I remember there was still a reasonably large amount of people playing around 05-06 on Zek, but whichever expansion came out around 07 really diminished the population there from what I can remember.

Omens of War I think? 2004ish.

Not sure if it was the expansion or the release of wow, but that's when most of the people I knew quit playing Live EQ.

on fennin it was pretty late actaully, maybe depths of darkhallow or prophecy of ro which was widely labeled as yakesha 2.0..

as far as OoW is concerned, IMO it is by far the best post velious expansion, I loved the raiding in that expansion, and MPG has some of the best zone design outside of the original trilogy.

Depts of Darkhollow had to be the one.. Everyone lost interest after that horrible expansion.

The idea of turning into a fairy, and killing shrooms was retarded.

Ya, the tour lost sooo much when Jerry died. Fifteen years ago, it was (8/9/95)... :(

People on every server had an issue with most of the expansions post-Planes of Power.

On Prexus, the top tier guilds and the players who led the way started to bail shortly after PoP. When WoW and EQ2 came out pretty much.

With the people I played with, WoW and EQ2, for sure.

I think the down hill adventure with Rallos Zek was Lost Dungeons of Norrath.

For anyone I knew on Druzzil Ro, running our 1,500th LDoN was the beginning of the end. Gates of Discord was the nail in the coffin. Its like SoE got drunk and named zones by throwing keyboards at each other. Uqua, Vxtta, Riwwi, Qvic or Ikkinz anyone?

I personally quit around DoD. I remember doing a few of those scenarios, but it got really lame after a while

LDoN was the beginning of the end for Bristlebane, was a strong server before that.. it was combined with another one i forget which though around the time of Luclin

I think the first hit to the nameless was GoD, with the final blow coming from DoD. Monster missions ruined the game and let any moronic newbie rush to max level, while leaving all their skills at 1.

With Vallon Zek - it was PoP mostly. Well - really Luclin, it started the "one big happy family" of crossteamers who wanted to play VZ like it was a blue server.

So I said the hell with it, if I'm gonna play on a blue server - I'll just play on a real blue server and moved to Cazic-Thule.

That one... hmmm, I made new friends around the time - but sometime between GoD and OOW it started to have a different 'feel' to it.

Server has nothing to do with it.
WoW came out, and EQ2 came out. People wanted to next best thing.

Sad thing is when they returned to EQ cuz WoW and EQ2 sucked they found their community deserted and unable to do any good content anymore and constantly LFG.

EQ died, and will continue to die. But hey at least they;re still releasing expansions bahahaha

On Morell Thule i noticed the population really start to dwindle when gates hit, and then plummeted after OOW, terrible expansions imo

This, but I think it had more to do with the EQ2 / WoW releases soonish after OOW anyway. After GoD people were looking for a reason to leave (which many found in DAOC and SWG).

I played on Sullon Zek and PoP killed pvp... People turned pussy and would only fight when they were close to a book the zone out when they were losing.

Manaburn/Lifeburn was also a negative hit. Wizards were famous for hanging out at the bazaar and going out once every hour and manaburning someone and zoning back bragging thinking they were doing something skillfull.
