Out of the classes with some melee

Which class would be able to kill the largest number of named monsters in dungeons solo, closest to their legitimate level ranges.

Some twinking allowed, nothing like a fungus tunic or haste item before you would legitimately acquire them.

Melee? with no fungi or haste? Uhhmm might want to stick to light blues and not even try any rare or bosses of dark blue or higher con. Unless you are a fully raid buffed 60 rogue, Even dark blue Drolvargs in KC can put a beating on you and take you to 60-70% before you finish them off due to the 100+ hits. Monk is another story, they have a lot of mitigation and higher AC and you will block parry riposte dodge way more attacks.

I would say monk. Between mend(stonestance if level able) and FD your pretty ok esp if iksar. Rogue warrior hybrid with no fungi haste not a chance.

Well in Velious you will be using melee with Torpor as a Shaman so I would still say Shaman.

Out of the actual melees none of them are good at killing crap solo. I guess you can say monk/shadowknight/paladin since they can single pull..... but they still won't kill anything that great.

If you are wanting to farm lower level dungeons shadowknights can invis/ivu and single pull with FD.

He didn't say purely melee, and shamans do melee damage sometimes.

If you're considering melee hybrids like pali/sk you may as well just make the shaman.

starting out as a melee can be done, but its gonna be painful. Bard isn't too bard to start out with, you can AoE kite fairly quickly

Monks, Rangers, Shadowknights all have their unique tricks up their sleeves.

Step one, learn to strafe kite. It works at all levels to help vs tougher mobs, though isn't necessarily the fastest way to kill mobs.

Monks are pretty powerful soloers once well geared. Shadowknights can almost legitimately solo exp giving mobs/named up into their 40's with the right luck/patience/chess/careful preperation etc... I know SK's who gleefuly solo'd gatorscale legs, and ass/up with classic gear and levels.

Paladins solo well vs undead and whatever but are more suited to regular exping then killing hard opponents.

Rangers have the most versatility and track. They with a bit of effort and learning can solo tough opponents for melees. Even indoors.
