Pretty sure I'm not alone in this, but one of my favorite things in EQ is the actual questing and some of the interesting lore that comes with it.

The Shaman and SK Epics are two of my favorite quest stories, and the Sol Ro Temple armor quests are fun too.

Anyone have a particular favorite quest that they would recommend?

What's that enchanter quest where you have to pick up a coin from every Norrathian city? (pre-Kunark I think). I've not done that in forever but it was one of those that took a ton of time :p

Similarly, questing the stein of moggok is fun... despite the damn bixies not giving up the honeycomb :)

any of the iksar armor quests!

I really liked the Sol Ro quests from classic.

The armors were somewhat simple, get two items from two different dungeons and some vendor stuff.

The other stuff got you out to 4 different dungeons or zones. Not too many rare drops or rare spawns, just a decent 30-60min group in the zone at the correct area would get you your piece. It was a nice way to visit multiple zones and explore etc.

Really wish there were more quests like that. Some FV or OT quests that sent you out to Karnors, Sebilis, Charasis and Chardok would've been cool.

Agreed on the stein of moggok! And I think that's the coin of Tash quest?

Those iksar newbie quests are half the reason to make an iksar, IMO.

Dald: I only did the armor ones personally, but I'm thinking of rolling a caster just to try out one of their Sol Ro quests =)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there also a great ring you could get in Chardok if you had the right sarnak faction?

Don't need to roll a caster. Most of them are tradeable... I've done probably 50-60% of those quests on my Druid. Or atleast farmed them and given the pieces to an alt for turnin.

Burning rapier was a huge one for me both on live and p99. Was key upgrade for me around level 30 and fun, challenging and rewarding.

Cheers! This one and the next ring were SO much fun on my Shaman. I loved hunting Droga.

This one! The Burning Rapier and Ragebringer quests have fantastic story lines. I never finished my rapier here,
and I'm fairly ashamed of my unredeemed self.

Yeah, it's the coin of tash quest. I did it the night before last. It took ~3hours.
Gotta go to 10 cities, after that HHK>Neriak>Erudin and then finish the quest in Ro temple.

I can't say if it is the 'best' quest in the game or not... But, I have a lot of memories of running the Soulfire quest on my Paladin. :) The final confrontation in Freeport... Priceless.

Temple quests were always kind to Necromancers. Still wear the boots and gloves. :) The clicky book and harvester are often necro achievements. :)

Mystic Cloak for me. Did it on live for a level 5 alt and got extremely lucky that all the sneaking around I had , have done it on both my characters here.
That or "Who Deputy Tagil" which, while I never leveled a halfling past about 6 on live, made those first 4 levels a breeze.

I didn't do this quest but it does seem legendary.

I did the monk's Shackle quest and the whistling fists. Then the shackle quest again in order to have that sweet bracer. I found out that the fists and the shackle we're introduced in Luclin. All the quest mobs are in Kunark/Fear. Maybe they'll make the cut, maybe they won't. It was definitely one of the best quests and adventures I've been on as a monk.

I had a blast with the enchanter epic because of the skills it requires. It's not just a zergfest on mobs, or camping a mob for 2-7 days (eg VT). It was just a blast to work through.

Standing at the top of CoM behind the last hut on the catwalk! Soloing down to the dude in the hole through careful use of invis, mez, calm, mem blur, and outright demolition! good times man...

SK epic fun too so far. And with CT bottleneck, it has done an excellent job of inducing hatred in my SK heart. Definitely heightening my immersion.

Lynuga's Gem Collection

Simply save your Ruby that you find. Turn in to the troll, and profit! I've turned in about 10 ruby so far, and made more from the quest rewards than I would have vendoring the gems. Also a chance at the nice Hoop earring.

If you are the gambling type, this is probably the closest you'll get to an NPC casino. Purchase vendor Ruby for chance to profit. I don't recommend unless you're in to that sort of thing.

How was Greenmist fun? Prty sure 90% of the quest is "go find 4 rare drops off rare mobs in Kunark newbie areas", there were like 2 parts with cool events regarding traitors and whatnot. Rest is just blergh.

Wurmslayer is prty cool: talking around taverns to learn of it, finding dwagons in hiding with backwards names, optional ways to get the piece off Tektite, some of said obscure named hunting, ridiculous ending with the paladin marching to his doom in FV.

I've been doing the Innoruuk Symbol Quests (http://wiki.project1999.com/Innoruuk_Symbol_Quests) and greatly enjoying them. They involve:

- murdering Halflings
- Disguising yourself by wearing the skinned face of a dead Halfling
- murdering more Halflings
- murdering a High Elf

What more could you ask for?

I LOVED then enchanter Epic quest on live. Staff of the Wheel always looking like a fun quest. Only quests I'm really Jelly about are the monk ones.

Every class needs a progressively harder quest to keep upgrading an items they are using while leveling. Pretty cool concept.

Toss up between Spirit of Garzicor and In Dreams (WoW) for favorite quest.

Also loved the 9th Ring Quest and 10th Ring War.
Ragebringer and Celestial Fists are pretty sweet as well.

As a rogue I've also got to go with Burning Rapier and Ragebringer. Sadly on this server the Ragebringer quest entails:

Farm 40-50K
Buy MQ

Quests beyond the scope of this server that I enjoyed included Fatestealer (Rogue 1.5) although the tradeskill portions were annoying, Nightshade (Rogue 2.0), Sigil Earring of Veracity (Oh no, a Luclin quest! Although I did this one way past its era, so maybe it was more fun later on than when it was current) and Grandmaster Assassin's Seal.

LDON pre-quest before being able to run dungeons. You'd spam through a bunch of BS chat then they'd try to quiz you after. They called our collective bullshit ~

Never understood why everyone hated ldon so much. Adventures were fucking fun. Get a group of your friends together, speed through in half an hour or make it really hard on yourself and really have to work for it, GET POINTS! do it again till you can buy an upgrade.

Burning Rapier Quest.

Involves collecting various exotic booze, having to jump ship in OOT and swimming to the bottom to get oblong bottle, hopefully not drowning on the way back up to the surface. Then having to buy expensive gem off low level merchant in WC, who you can and should then kill for getting price gouged. Etc. Etc.

I always used to wonder how the Oblong Bottle was initially found. It seems crazy to me that someone was swimming along the bottom of the ocean one day and found it. I feel like this had to have been hinted at or spoiled by someone in the know at some point.

I forgot all about that!

Also, technically the ULTIMATE QUEST. PoP getting Plane of Time flagged. Every flag and mob kill up to that including the 4 elemental gods. Best experience I have had in ANY game I have ever played.
