So what's the deal with the early start? As I understand it there are several and the Sunday one is for Tue direct download from Bethesda. You have to preorder before Sunday or can you just do it then?

I was online last night trying to get a handle on the structure of this game. Haven't played betas.
But from what it sounds like, it sounds like SWTOR: early game is basically a solo linear game with a bunch of other players running around you do not need to interact with, then an end game with.... what? PvP?
Sounds like SWTOR. Which was a so-so single player game with an MMO part tacked on?
If so no thnx, sadly. Damn, must I come back to p99 for just some basic mmo gameplay?

Here's an article discussing the end game content:
http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2014/03/26/esos-veteran-content
TLDR They are going to have high level zones (Adventure Zones) that have groupable+ content that I believe is not soloable, but I am not sure on that. I would assume it's not.
They're also having 12 man "raids" that they call trials. Trials will have leaderboards based on time to complete them, and there are time penalties for messing up. You also apparently have a limited amount of rezzes for trials. Not much is known about trials other than what that article shares.

Tried the beta, it was so foreign to me im not sure i could get used to it. Never liked the console versions and not targeting in an online game seems weird, so does manually having to attack.

Except for Skyrim and, to a lesser extent, Oblivion both of which I played on 360, I'm new to the series too. It's so old even tho I've played two titles I still feel like a noob. Got in the last beta weekend but didn't have time to play so I'm coming to it fresh, which is just what the doc ordered. Been dying to sink into a new game for a while.
There are things about what I have seen that gives me reservations about an MMO version of the series. But, simultaneously, there are enough really amazing things about what I've seen that make me highly curious about how an Elder Scrolls MMO will play. I gave WoW a shot for the same reasons. Wound up running screaming from that, but out of respect for the franchise it was absolutely worth a shot. As single player RPGs Skyrim abd Oblivion are amazing. I'm really stoked to see how that translates to an MMO.
I'm also curious about PC versus console. It may play better on one than the other. If I like the PC version I'll probably get it for the Xbox One in June and do a taste test. Been hoping for a true MMO on console for a long time, too. Maybe this will be the one.
Who knows. They have a great track record with these games, tho, so it's worth a try, imo.

Set my alarm for 6:30 so I'd be up and ready to go, try logging on a few minutes early, I get in somehow which makes me suspicious, try to get some names and every single one except for two is taken.
Go to the forums and see the server was up at 6 AM EDT.
Someone at ZOS doesn't understand the difference between EDT and EST. 7 AM EDT = 6 AM EST.
Oh and I lost my preorder items after deleting my character to remake him. I'm not the only one either. They're very soon to be backlogged with requests to reimburse lost items because for some reason they didn't make these items per character like every other MMO.
Other than that it's a smooth launch so far for me but it's also early so the big lag, stability and log in test won't be for a while.

I only made it to level 8. Got there in a few hours then had to bail for work too. Can't wait to hit 15 and get that weapon swap and alternate skill bar. I think I am gonna use bows as my other weapon. That shit seems super powerful. Maybe will do sword and board for tanking 20+ stuff. That shield helps out a lot with damage mitigation.

In Skyrim I played a archer/assassin and was going to do the same again. In that game you can focarcgery all the way from the start. Is that possible here that you've seen or is it better to start with a weapon and shield or weapons first?
Haven't been able to play yet but should be able to tonight.

As far as I know archery has been considered anywhere from quite weak to mediocre throughout beta.
I played a nightblade assassin/archer type character in beta and did quite well. Melees have many control abilities and gap closers, but you have about as many gap creators. Your dps might tend to be a bit lower than a melee. With clever use of terrain and/or a nice ambush from max range I was able to win the vast majority of 1v1 encounters and at one point I won a 1v4 against a bunch of noobs
In PvE / questing relying on the bow worked just fine for me, but then the questing content is pretty easy.

Good to know, thank you. Guess I really just need to get in and screw around with it and see. I've only played these games on console and something tells me getting the controls set up for pc is going to drive me nuts, but we shall see.

Player Marriages
A player can marry another player in a simple ceremony, but it’s really a marriage of convenience. The benefit here lies in the bonus experience points you’ll get travelling and adventuring together with your character’s spouse.
You can pair up with a friend that you play with constantly – gender has never been a barrier in Elder Scrolls marriages – and you’ll both benefit from working together.

So how is it going so far you guys enjoying the game? I preordered for ps4 so I've got to wait 2 months(my wife is a huge skyrim player and wanted to play this, but she hates pc gaming so I had to go console on this one :( )

Night 2.. almost made it to pvp level. The Campaign window showed about 10-12 of them running last night.
So far the game is more of the same pretty much.. questing, running around...nothing revolutionary yet that i have never seen before except for the leveling up of skill lines including weapons and armor ( the more you use a style of wep, will unlock specific skills for that type of wep or armor ) , as well as your typical combat and magic skill lines.
The PVE seems very easy mode up to this point, although i have died a few times.
Gorgeous world tho. Had to stop and take some ultra nerdy SS's as i adventure around the lands looking for xp , gold and pixels.
My ultimate decision on if this game sucks balls will probably be tonight once i actually enter the PvP campaigns.
So far... 5/10 rating.

Fuck, but it's needed. That repeatable was way too lucrative.
and this
Legacy of Baelborne Rock: Tanchim now yells at only you when interacting with the rune, instead of everyone in the region, including most of Daggerfall City.
You know how many times I reported that annoying problem? Glad they finally decided to fix it.

Provisioning is a curse. Nothing should spew that many mats, lol. Alchemy's working out pretty well, but at the rate health / mana pots drop from bosses I think I'll be better off just making shit like crit pots ~ That feel when magelight + crit pot puts you at 80% crit :3

I have only played it for a few hours so I will give my very uninformed opinion. Seems ok, similar to skyrim but other real people running around. In my limited play I feel more like in playing a single player game. I think it's weird that people see different things in the world depending on status in quests which kills a bit of the immersive feel to me. The classes and races seem fairly interesting. Quests are pretty interesting and draw you along in short pieces and at times give you choices that will let you actually feel a bit more of a role playing element. Early on it does feel like everyone is doing the exact same things though.
The only other mmo I have played was classic eq til early velious then p99. So I don't know what to expect or look for I guess.

In beta I was highly critical of this title. There are still many things about it that I wish they would have done differently. I'm jaded and highly cynical regarding gaming at this point, especially MMO's.
But I must say, I'm having a blast with this. I love the zones, I love the questing, the dungeons, and most of all I love the class/abilities system. As a nightblade there are so many different builds I want to try, so many different ways to use various combinations of abilities, and I'm pretty sure many of them are viable.
In my experience the open-world RvR PvP in Cyrodil has been fantastic. Sometimes I participate in the zergy keep sieges, but most of the time I am skirmishing near major battles or sneaking around doing interdiction on enemy factions who are running back to the battle or retreating. I've found my build to be god damned OP in small scale pvp.
There are also towns scattered around Cyrodil, some of which you'll recognize (Cheydinhal, Bruma, etc), in which all three factions can quest. I've seen some really exciting small scale pvp break out in these towns and I have a lot of fun starting fights and just generally being a scumbag.
The game is suffering some fairly serious mechanical issues, perhaps even greater than you'd expect for an MMO launch. Many quests are bugged, and some of the higher level zones are suffering rollbacks so frequently that it's game-breaking. However server uptime and latency have been exceptional for an MMO release, and I've been leveling on Cyrodil quests while I wait for Greenshade to quit rolling back.
I have some minor gripes with the UI that seem to stem from the disgusting fact that this MMO was created to be playable on consoles. You can't enter search terms into the guild auction stores, and the default UI has no nameplates, buff tracking functionality, or numerical feedback. They've said this was for the sake of immersion, but I don't buy it. It should be toggle-able. There are mods that deliver some of these features for people that want them, but I've heard their API is a little strict. As far as I know that means no damage meters for those who love comparing e-penises.
I feel like this game was definitely worth my purchase. Is it something I will play for months to come after I reach the level cap? That entirely depends upon how competently Zenimax handles the addition of new content, and the fine-tuning of existing content. At worst I would expect this game to maintain a subscription model for a little over a year before switching to a F2P, SWTOResque model. At best they will overcome all the vitriol and neuroticism that neckbeard virgins have toward MMO's, and maintain a modest share of the market as a reputable title.
@Kuriak if you ever need a dps for shenanigans, or a crafting buddy to deconstruct each other's stuff.

Game seems pretty cool - kind of overwhelmed by the character development choices. And for an MMO that is a good thing. It will have staying power. So far the dialog/world building is tight. Even if the environments are a bit smaller than I'm use to. I already see plenty of incentive to explore as a crafter.
The combat mechanics work. I can see great potential for some epic raids/group battles.

Been playing exclusively with my SO and it has been a lot of fun. We're around level 17 at the moment and we just left the first little continent to get to the second one. The megaserver technology is really raw at the moment and it's causing a load of quest issues but only a few quests are completely broken (only one on the Daggerfall side so far). Really enjoying the game though, not feeling pressured to level is a great feeling, and this game does not pressure you to level at all.

There's a few UI tweaks that I think will be put into place eventually, one of them being the option of searching for a specific item in the guild store. Otherwise it's pretty much useless. It is good to see people using general chat to trade, however.
I'd also really like to see an option to sort your crafting materials by each tradeskill, ie press a button to see all smithing materials or alchemy reagents. I really hope both of these suggestions go into effect at some point.

No Name Tags on any player/npc gives you a solo feel also who needs 5 freakin guilds and no guild tag either.
