According to random people on my Teamspeak, if Velious is anything like Kunark beta, it will take a long ass time, as in like 2015 and beyond.

Been over two years since Velious was announced to supposedly go live. We still haven't heard boo from the GM's regarding the matter. So yes, it is that long, and it can be much longer than that.

This is why the beta server will never be popular.

And in the case of more longer lingering server pals, they want to get their 2nd/3rd/8th character to 60. I like the fact that the beta server is up, nobody can moan for the lack of a release date because they aren't doing much/anything to help out ;)

I don't like the concept of people being able to do anything outside of game to get ahead in the game. I appreciate quality bug reporters as much as anyone, but such reporters know coming in that they are helping out of altruism, not for gain. Give people who kick ass at reporting bugs a forum title or color or whatever, not early access to a new expansion.

I'd love to help test velious. My problem is I only have a level 30 Wizard and 18 Monk. Is 30 high enough to hop into Velious? On live I used to go there around 40 iirc.

The GMs, Devs and donators do a fantastic job here. I've disagreed with them, but I'd buy any one of them dinner and alcohol if I ever met them. Planning on donating too, once my damn tax refund arrives. Love the staff :)

Sorry for the derail.

Bolts as in Mage fire bolt nukes? I saw one last night and was wondering why a glowing black stone was flying through the air. If that's the way bolts looked in p99 cool. If not, it's still cool. I keep picturing the fist flying through the air and punching a mob in the face. Slow motion.

I am glad you and the members of your team do the work to keep this thing going. It's great to see this in action.
I don't think I've met a GM yet but the way I look at it, if I don't meet a GM, then nothings going wrong.

Also to note why ban the IP. There's always a chance for someone to turn over a new leaf. If it's easy to find the RMT. It's more work to keep banning people permanently when there is a chance they may learn not to do it again in the future.

I like the policy's here. I like the game play. I really like the community.

I've been on beta a couple times and submitted I think three bugs. I plan on doing more in the future. I'm one of those people who is desperately scrambling to get as close to 60 as possible before release because RAIDIIIIIIING, but the truth is I need to do a better job reminding myself that no one deserves to have something like this game just HANDED to them, we all really need to do something to contribute- be it donations, helping with beta, or just being a real part of the community that ideally will make this server worth playing on. We should all be pitching in and I personally haven't done enough of that.

Until I do the movement collision checks, I have a few little tweaks. The bad news first. You will need los at beginning and end of spell. Now the good. Casting another spell will not disrupt. You can have multiple bolts flying at same time.

Will NPCs ever start needing ANYTHING at the end of a spell cast? You can take a rez box and get nailed across an entire zone. This is negatively affecting my cleric pulling after the hide nerf and doesn't feel classic :P

Depends what you mean by exploits. Adds ways to cheese spell casting mobs, but most raid targets aren't casting spells once engaged anyway. Just the CHs from vox/gore and low hp gate, neither of which would be affected by this change. It would allow various pulling tools, though, and would make bard kites through fear much more risk free. I think we'll chalk this one up to classic-feel change, though, to keep things challenging. Kinda like the amped up version of sky we had for so long and the hilariously high dragon regen we still have.
