View Full Version : Graphical issue in EC

Game has been smooth as normal until I got to WFP. I notice blocks around other characters and mobs/npc's. It's the same in EC as well, but Nektulos seems fine.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I reloaded my ATI driver's, still same.
No crashes or frame rate issues, just the graphical glitches.

Well thought I had it fixed, changed the resolution to a smaller res and it went away, sucks because it wasn't my lcd's native resolution. Well I decided to try a closer to native res and it was fine but seemed harder to read text so went back to the one that worked earlier. It's back to doing it again. Sucks I can't really play it like this, everything in the game has been great. Sucks because nobody else is chiming in when I ask in EC.

Anyone care to chime in? I hate not being able to play this for something like this.

I've had multiple issues with the Catalyst 10.x + drivers on my daughter's PC. I eventually went to 9.2? I think - something 9.X before the new installer and they worked great.
I was so unimpressed with the new drivers that I bought an nVidia this time around and I used to get ATI almost all of the time.

Hmm I'll try the 9.2 then, I'll report back, thanks.
**Update**
Tried the 9.2 and still no go. I really don't think I will be buying an Nvidia just to play this when my ATI works on everything else.

I'd say buy evga manufactured cards with nvidia chipsets because they are just plain better than their ATI counterparts, but that's another discussion :)
rather than asking a million follow up questions, care to run dxdiag, save to file, and post here as an attachment? In the same post, include what your in-game settings look like.

Oh I definitely wasn't suggesting that. I kept my ATI until it was time to upgrade. ATI did me a huge favor on my first 'high-end' card. I goofed, had a SIMM chip in - not quite all the way - I just told them what I did; it had burnt the video card. They shipped me a brand new replacement, I was all ATI after that.
Up until AMD took over and started this new driver setup. Just had so many problems, I ended up going with a nVidia this time. Nothing against ATI, I'm sure the new drivers work on most systems fine.
If you are only having the issue in EC/WFP - that's kinda odd, I might suspect the files for EC/WFP are corrupted..
I do recall having some 'issues' on live way back and the tech support guy had me delete the zone files + all adjacent zones as well. I do believe it fixed the issue, of course, I could just patch and get the files again. With P99 might end up stuck re-installing.
One more question too - did you 'update' textures to the higher res ones? Maybe if not, that will help.

Well I reinstalled titanium and it seems to be fine. I'll check those files out, thanks!

Select any modern ATI card and then find its counterpart released around the same time. usually with fewer stream processors, the performance of the nvidia counterpart is beating the ATI card if not completely blowing it out of the water.
To make sure we're talking about the same cards when you challenge this thought. Select any ATI card and I will select the most recent Nvidia card release on or about the same date or just the most recent one prior to that date. Each card must be in the same product line. The ATI ones haven't out performed their nvidia counterparts in 10 years or more. Sorry if you're blowing your money on bad hardware or buying ATI simply because it fits into your budget a little easier, but facts are still facts.
