View Full Version : detect an infared code
I am trying to get an infared signal being sent from an emitter (think along the lines of a remote control). I know I can use a fotoransistor on a breadboard to capture/detect the signal, but I have no idea how to get the code being sent out of it. I need the hex so i can re broadca st it. How can I get this info?
There are websites that have IR codes like the one I'm looking for but they don't have particular for this device

I'm not very familiar with the subject but google-fu points me in this direction (http://www.brainlinksystem.com/signal-analyzer). Would this be along the lines of what you're looking for?

hey can i ask a question that makes me look smart even though im too stupid to google the info and think someone here might know? can i?
You're an idiot bighurb obviously I tried google before an everquest forum. when I tried asking this on computer science and electrical engineering forums no one knew. This was a long shot hoping some other nerds on here have done something I genuinely am looking to accomplish.

I saw this before but the product is discontinued. I hope to find one similar because it would have worked probably.

Though the most massive and most energetic of radioactive emissions, the alpha particle is the shortest in range because of its strong interaction with matter. The electromagnetic gamma ray is extremely penetrating, even penetrating considerable thicknesses of concrete. The electron of beta radioactivity strongly interacts with matter and has a short range.

would it be possible to detect the voltage going into the emitter diode? if you could determine a difference in power, then you could potentially translate this into different commands. it would help to be able to find a blueprint for the device, but the internet is saturated with pr0n and kittens so this may not be a quick find.
i have run into a similar quandry recently, trying to figure out how to connect a RF device to my wavebird adapter.

What device are you trying to connect to your wavebird? Is it the early 900 MHz version or the 2.4g? With that device being proprietary it would be much harder to customize something. Infrared is highly standardized.

well i lost the actual wavebird, i want to connect a wireless keyboard/mouse to the wavebird adapter. ive only searched online so far, havent actually tried to hook anything up yet.
