Best duo with a... mag?

Got a partner who is dead set on being a mag of evil variety.

We're not gonna be big league pvp'ers any time soon, maybe ever.. but we wanna hold our own against any equal level non-twinks.

Whats a good leveling class duo with mag?

another mag?
sham?
cler?

If I can be a melee I'd prefer that I guess but anything would be fun

i was a pretty nifty charm enc, i know it can be crazy fast but i dont see how a mag would realy help that whole deal

maybe other than throwing a couple nukes to clean up the charm things.. would be needing them to do the 1 dmg to take full xp exclusively

got a 40 enc anyway. wanting to start anew

since you're duoing (presumably so mage pet doesnt take 1/2 exp) I basically just recommend any other pet class, as they'll do the most dps and require 0 healing.

Necro is a good duo because you get 2 pets and the necro can fear kite, keeping his pet alive longer.

If you just sick both your pets on a mob the necro pet, being weaker, will end up tanking, unfortunately.

enchanter/bard > shaman > everything else. by a lot.

anything can work though. if your duo is a melee you can DS and have them joust while pet tanks (works best with rogue / monk). if your partner is any other caster they are either adding DPS or buffing/healing you and pet. gl

If you just sick both your pets on a mob the necro pet, being weaker, will end up tanking, unfortunately.

With some effort this can be avoided. If the Magician has their pet stand in front of them, and pulls the target, and the necro roots the target right as it gets in melee range, the magician pet will be standing right next to the target. Rooted targets attack whoever is closest, so the necro pet will be safe because it will be standing farther away when it goes to attack.

Or you can just fear kite.
