Anybody do this quest recently? I got 10 hours in the catacombs killing gel cubes and have yet to see a drosco. Bad luck?

I am in the circular room with the nest rat. I think i have about 10 golden lockets.

Sounds like your in the right place. I've camped it 8 hours but due to a bug I had to camp it twice.
Make sure you know what to do regarding the regurgitator or you might have to camp Drosco again.

If your a paladin I'd suggest buying a ghoulbane. If you absolutely must camp it, I've got to say its a pretty good weapon that proc'ed way more than I expected.

The staff isn't that bad.. But honestly I don't think it's worth the trouble.

I did this quest two days ago.
Took me about 20 hours or so, Had to kill the zombie about 7x for the necklace to drop.
The place holder does not ''Spawn'' in the rat nest room. Rather he roams there once he spawns.
He spawns in the room to the left near the water , by green dot on the floor the room infront of it, but you can wait in the rat nest room for it to walk there and kill it.
It's a 20 min spawn. Good luck if you have any questions PM me :-)

Well, I think for certain people it IS worth the trouble. Think of the name of the game we are playing here. EverQUEST. At times I have had a desire to just start a new toon and go at it like I think the original Devs thought should happen. It would be hard mode but I still get the urge to try it at times. :p The Tunnel in EC can be VERY addictive.

True. I guess it all depends what you are looking for. :D

I have been killing the Gel cube, but it doesn't look like he paths down the hall to the green spot. There does seem to be a beggar who does this path your talking about, but they have negative faction hits. If you killed the zombie 7x in 20 hours i surely would have seen him once in 10. Can you confirm the PHs?

Even though there are better items I feel i need to complete this now as it has presented itself a challenge.

Well ive killed drosco 14 times now and no amulet. Still plucking away at it. It is definitely a lot more difficult than I imagined.

CONGRATS!! I know people who play paladins tend to waste all kinds of time questing, kind of the nature of paladin types :) I don't know how the proc rate is after all these changes, but I know when I was unresting in my early levels this out procced the ghoulbane by quite a bit, worth the couple days camping it takes IMO
