Do all food and drink decrease at the same rate on this server? I feel like I've heard people say that iron ration is no different than regular ration in terms of how long it lasts.

That's what I've heard. Don't you have forage and singing steel boots? You shouldn't be buying food and drink anyway.

What are you trying to do? Put Greengrocer out of business?

You really ARE a terrible person, Swish :(

Hmm... you know what... I got Cure Disease on my druid.

C'mon people! Together we can defeat this horrible condition!

And the best news is.... you won't have to prick your finger anymore!

But seriously yeah I have no idea how long any of this crap lasts. All I know is eventually it will run out and you will all come crawling back for more!!!

fwiw: Greengrocer consumes approximately one stack of Meat Pies and Water Flasks in an ~8 hour time span. Tonight, I'll load him up with Fish Rolls or Iron Rations and Fuzzlecutter and we'll see what it looks like in the morning.

SS Boots are already updated to Levi song on Velious Beta Server.

When i tested it 2 years ago, all the foods/drinks had the same duration.

This is what I recall. It's not actually classic to have food durations of different lengths, IIRC.

Takes too long to summon food. Afraid of summoned stuff crashing me too.

My dwarf consumes iron rations and water at the same rate, my Iksar's iron rations last way longer than his water.

Can confirm dwarves are just fatasses.

I've been making Fish Rolls for myself under the assumption that because they are banquet sized meals they last much longer. That's what I did on live but that might have been post-Velious.

Am I doing it wrong?

Does your iksar forage, and then snack on the foraged food?

I figured I should know how this stuff actually works, so I tested out some durations tonight by recording Greengrocer slowly eating [Meat Pie] (meal) versus (hearty meal), then later reviewing the footage and comparing timestamps when the items were consumed. I also tested duration of [Flask of Water].

As far as level 1 Halfling Druids are concerned...

They will consume 1 [Meat Pie] every 2,028 seconds (33 minutes, 48 seconds)

They will consume 1 [Iron Ration] every 2,028 seconds (33 minutes, 48 seconds)

They will consume 1 [Flask of Water] every 2,028 seconds (33 minutes, 48 seconds)

Conclusion: Halfling Druids get very hungry and thirsty every 33 minutes, 48 seconds regardless of what they are eating. It is probably safe to extrapolate these figures (relatively) across all races and classes.

In other words, I'm a bit of a liar when I tell you your Mammoth Steaks are actually going to last longer than your Rations. I can only blame myself so much, though... Norrath needs labeling laws!! It says RIGHT ON THE PACKAGING that it is a "hearty" meal!! [I]What's a grocer to do? /sigh

Here is the raw footage (or "prof" as it has somehow been labeled here), in all its seven-and-a-half-hour-long glory: http://www.twitch.tv/portasaurus/b/535418454

Grocer is not responsible for false advertising on food products; FDA regulates that and the manufacturer is responsible

Greengrocer free and clear of all responsibility and confirmed SAINT

Yup. On live, the change happened about 4 months into Velious.

There's no benefit now, but if you're hording fish rolls for when this eventually changes, then groovy.

All food and drink was the same in the Kunark Era. It wasn't until several months into Velious that different durations started.
