Watched a dude climb a tree and get stuck then fall out of it and die after several hours of playing.
Laughed my ass off, then decided I'd never play it.

So I figured out that if you crouch and block when your getting attacked they miss like.. 90% of the time. This only works with the normal cannibals as far as I can tell. I tried this against the spider mutant and got fucking womp'd.
Also one thing...
WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH ALL THESE GOD DAMMED TENNIS BALLS!?
FUCK
LOL i was trying to make a flaming tennis ball by dousing it with booze and lighting it aflame, but i couldnt get it in my inventory.

this pic about sums this game up at this stage of development, imo..

it has great potential. 225 pages of suggestions. some better than others, but if even half of them are implemented, it would be awesome.

I realize that paying for alpha and beta copies of games seems to be the norm these days, but something really irritates me about the idea.
You have absolutely no idea where they'll take the game. Or if they'll even continue working on it after making enough money from "early access" sales.
And these survival sandbox / survival horror early access games seem to be a dime a dozen now. That being said, the trailer and game seem pretty cool. Will probably end up buying it anyways despite knowing it'll lead to disappointment. :(

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH ALL THESE GOD DAMMED TENNIS BALLS!?
I played this game once on stream and it was fun, lots of bugs but I guess that's to be expected with an alpha game. I wondered what's up with all the stupid tennis balls too! Someone told me that they're going to be for distracting the cannibals later in game so we'll see I guess!

I agree with you. The way I put it into perspective was that it was only 15 bucks. If it takes off, you have free access to any content / upgrades / patches, etc for the life of the game. If it flops, its a loss of a whopping 15 bucks, which is the price of a burger at any decent restaurant here in anchorage. If it was like 50 or something, I wouldn't touch it. But for 15 bucks, it held my ADD ass for over 4 hours, so that alone was worth the 15.

Ended up buying this. It wasn't terrible but there's enough bugs to keep me from playing for now.
Like sleeping supposedly saving the game but if you exit and come back later you lose everything in your backpack.
ive tried to make the same cabin 6 times. its all good though. still having fun

Day number two of this game ended in frustration as well. I started fresh and started getting established on the beach next to the crashed plane. Got a campfire, temp shelter and hunting fort set up. Got halfway on a log cabin, which is 40 some logs, when I got hit with a bug that kept making me swing my weapon repeatedly.
It was impossible to chop trees down with that going on. Was forced to sleep to save and exit game. Came back to find most of my backpack items gone again as well as the progress on the log cabin.
Despite saving, I lose everything in the inventory besides cash and coins, rocks and sticks. Soda, alcohol and candy bars all disappear as well as feathers, cloth and some others.
As with most of these early access games, "it could be good with enough work".

Just starting trying this game out. Seems fun so far. Only thing I can hope for is realism. It took 6+ axe slashings to kill a single cannibal =(
Can't stop playing this. Its spilling over into RL..

They fixed some major bugs. Like the bug that wiped your inventory when you saved and came back. But it's still got a loooong way to go to be remotely playable past a few hours. You run out of things to do real fast.
I just build new forts. the island is MINE. I have 4 forts set up, each serving a different purpose. one for pure survival. almost impossible to get in, fully self sustaining. one on a nearby beach that respawns luggage. a lookout post in between them, and one fort on the furthest edge of the map near the mountain for when the terrain increases. just keep building, just keep building. like dori

It's in alpha. And Zade, that beach is my favorite place to build every time. Right under the edge of that overlook, down below on the beach, I never seemed to get random cannibals scoping me out like everywhere else on the island. Plus luggage respawn. Them candy bars and meds bro.
And the fishing spear is a short distance down the beach which equals unlimited food source.

I've discovered that the flare gun is massively OP right now. If you hit a cannibal once they'll die from burning damage. It seemingly has unlimited ammo and can rapid fire. If it stops shooting, equip a different weapon then bring it back out and it works again.
I've also discovered, though, that the game gets buggy when you kill a ton of cannibals as I've done since discovering the flare gun.
