My knowledge in tradeskills is very poor but if I recall well you could change the color of some pieces on live (might not be classic, was in 2009 or so).

My Enchanted Dwarven Plate set looks brown and I want it to appear golden or white !

Thanks for tips ;)

As far as I know, it's only possible with fine steel armor. There were armor dyes that you could use on anything in later expansions, but we won't see them here on P99.

correct

Not being able to change armor colors has it's own appeal though. You know exactly someone is wearing by the material / color combo. You can tell the difference between a lv 60 raider and a lv 10 twink just by looking at them.

Note on the fine steel, once it is dyed in the creation process it is set, you can't change it.

You don't dye fine plate in the creation process. It's a separate nofail combine that can be done at any time after the piece is created, regardless of the passage of time or use of the piece. But yeah, the dyed fine plate recipes require an undyed piece as a component, so once it's been dyed the color can't be changed.

This server is so thoroughly swamped with loot that's better & cheaper than fine plate that the stuff's primary use seems to be vanity suits for EC tunnel mules. My smith made a fair bit of pp in days past selling 7-piece colored suits at a substantial mark-up.
