Our repop fault line has been remarkably quiet. Seeking some brave souls to plant nuclear weapons in the trench and knock Freeport into the sea.

Due to experimental weapons testing in the Plane of Sky, The server's OOA agreement has collapsed, Dolijo's rage has melted the polar ice caps, and Chest's tears have flooded 70% of the sever's habitable landmass.

earthquake message goes out, all the raid mobs spawn, RNF gets delicious for a day or so.

Rumors are, that they stopped because not enough people are beta testing? Or there's too much raid guild drama? Rogean is AFK? Give us a hint? If we're done getting them, I'd love to hear something about it.

Server down repop not on the weekend would be sick too...just saying.

Items already overflowed. More cleric bps on this server than there were kunark bps period on live at the time of Velious release FACT

I'm just making that up but it's probably closer to the truth than one would think

Overflow of items = Not Classic

There is no classic solution to this though eh?

You could create a new server, but all that server would be is a server first race and loot would be the same as it is now in 1 year.

How about a casuals discussion area on the forums, that's like the raid discussion forums... We'l come to agreements that we'll all delete items when we are done with them or 2 week suspension for each item sold in EC and or camping only un named spawns penalty 1 week suspension for each named killed.

What if randomly every year 50% of each characters inventory was deleted. Ouch...

I want to shoot myself for even making jokes about this :P

(ps these are all jokes)

Someone should make a classic server up to Velious with a 2 year reset cycle. Release the expansions every 6 months from the start, after 2 years, wipe it clean. Then have a 2nd server locked in stasis at the end of Velious, anyone too attached to have their character reset can do a one way /copy over to the other server.

TMO should institute a new +DKP program for people that move to Japan.

We've had weekend spawns for a very, very long time. They are good for me but not everyone can do weekends. I think it's good to mix it up. I know a lot of people were very happy about this.

In addition to this, which is true, we also have to take into consideration how this will gradually shift the spawn times. It doesn't work the same way for raid mobs as for, like, the Froglok Assassin, where the mob's spawn will be pushed forward a few minutes every time because the group takes however long to actually engage and kill it and then it spawns exactly 30 minutes later, but what we're about to see is 8 or 10 or 16 hour windows starting at 6, 7 AM, which means those windows (and subsequently the spawns) will be during the day/evening. This will last for a while until the spawns get pushed back again gradually, but it's going to be nice while it lasts.

I thought the group had asked developers to look at having the earthquake mobs not reset the weekly spawn timers for the regular weekly spawns, so that earthquakes were truly additional spawns. Did that not happen?

Daldaen

If the earthquake happens within some amount of hours of the mobs spawn or the mob being in window, it will reset the timer.

So, if the mob last spawned on, say Saturday, the Tuesday earthquake would be a truly additional spawn since the next spawn would be Saturday again? Is that why some are concerned about the additional drops entering the economy?

Daldaen
06-27-2014, 10:21 AM
Correct.

But those that think a few resets every month (more like 1 every other month) are going to do anything to our 4 year Kunark economy are dumb.

This is not true.

So you could have 2 dragons spawn within hours of each other? And the spawn timer stays on the original schedule for Saturday (in the example)?

e.g. Earthquake happens, dragon spawns. Then the normal spawn happens 2 hours later.

Daldaen
06-27-2014, 10:46 AM
This is not true.

Could've sworn Rogean posted that's how it worked. But maybe it just puts the respawn timer on hold. I forget. It's sort of moot since simulated repops are pretty few and far between.

That's correct. If a mob spawns due to a simulated repop, while the regular mob is in window, the regular window will be delayed until that mob is dead. So if Gore is in window until 8:00 PM, and ground shake gore spawns and is alive for two hours, regular gore's window will end at 10:00 PM. If Regular gore is up when the ground shakes, repop Gore kills him, and the window ends there.
