I always hit 'c' after targeting a mob so nothing has changed for me. I thought most people on this server played classic EQ. We should be used to this. The way some of us are crying about such a simple change is pretty shameful.

When I retired I was the top geared/AA'd Enchanter on my server top 25 across all servers and in a top 5 raiding guild. I think the changes are completely dumb. Some classic mechanics were just simply oversight or mistakes on the original EQ dev's part. There's a reason they got changed. I play on P99 for the old school content I enjoyed so much. Not the shitty pointless Classic mechanics that nobody in their right mind actually enjoys.

P99 has monopoly. Even if a better server popped up nobody would play it. They're too invested in their characters here. Everyone that wants old school EQ is here. Making a new server isn't an option no matter how many times you repeat yourself.

There's a very limited set of people interested in old school EQ and P99 has a monopoly on them already. New server isn't an option.

im not referring to the fact that you want the game to be easiest as possible, everybody wants to take shortcuts every now and again. im talking about all the people that now have no idea how to tell what level a monster is. i may have never gathered as many AA's as you, but i have a basic concept of what a console command is.

I have "c" bound to all of my song slots. Let's you know if lag is hitting. It's a relic from the ddos days - if I didn't see dark blue lines every 3 seconds I'd be booking it to put as much distance between me and a merb as possible

I played EQ til my eyes bled in Classic and I spammed C just like everyone else cause that's what you had to do. When con color was implemented on target window I adapted and stopped doing it cause it was no longer necessary. Now it just feels like a completely dumb unnecessary extra step I have to take that serves as nothing more than an annoyance. You literally can't make an argument that this makes the game harder or somehow require more skill. It doesn't. It just adds an extra annoying step you have to take to play the game. Does anybody LEGITIMATELY think it "dumbs down the game" to not have to press C to see con? Are we really that dense? Does it add anything of value to the game to require it?

The vast majority of players on P99 were happy with how things were. A very very small vocal minority wants things to be "more classic" and here we are. Every patch some dumb shit gets changed in the name of "Shit's Classic" and makes the avg P99 player want to kill themselves. The changes add nothing to the game. Serve no purpose except annoying a huge portion of players.
