I hope something like that can get done. Sounds like it might have a bit more backing than Titan.

As a trekky im starving for new star trek content but id hate for another star trek series to end up only making it to the 4th season mark and get cancelled.

I feel the same way to a point. However, 4 seasons of star trek is so much better than no star trek.

Old news.
Michael Dorn himself confirmed at Comic-Con this year that while he'd love to do it, there's absolutely nothing official in the works even considering it.

Worf pretty much gave up his chance at going higher than a Lt Commander when he compromised a mission in order to save Jadzia Dax.... Sisko said as much.
I'd prefer something from a Klingon Empire/Romulan/Cardassian angle - get the fuck away from the Federation for a series and even paint the Fed as the bad guys ;)
Still plenty of opportunities for cameos of course.

That would be cool. Wait...the federation weren't the bad guys?

Section 31 might be balls deep, but it's not the federation.
I wish they revisited those bug aliens that took over the admirals in Starfleet Command in the episode Conspiracy.

You guys are thinking too narrowly, there needs to be a new series set with (preferrably with, TNG cast, however a few actors have said they have gotten too old for their roles) however going off my original idea it would have the enterprise E, or a new ship with riker on the titan, titan eventually gets blown up somewhere mid series and he rejoins the enterprise. It would be against a large borg incursion along with an incursion of species 8472 eventually the borg would be able to assimilate species 8472 and we would see some dialogue of species 8472 trying to work out how to prevent assimilation, the borg would eventually return to conquering federation space, romulans, cardassians, klingons, federation would all have to team up. DS9 would be in part of the battle but it would get blown up.

Sounds like a fast paced movie rather than a TV series.
I'll take anything though as long as its done properly. The problem is with so many good series coming to the small screen over the last few years viewers are spoilt, and if done badly it won't last :/

What a fucking mess. :p
Do captain Data of the starship enterprise F with cameos of all of his old friends here and there (Rikar's Titan is a good idea, just don't include his chief engineer please). End the first season with the return of the time-displaced dominion fleet popping out of the wormhole 30 years late.

it may be a bit quick but there's a lot of story potential in it. I mean space battles can take time, look at ds9

yeah i wrote that in a rush after i had just been woken up by gf and was being pushed out the door to go to the store :(
I like that, time displaced dominion fleet. Episodes would all be 2 hours long in a normal 22-26 episode season, shit would come out weekly instead of bi-weekly

the show would rake in trillions, and most importantly the merchandising would rake in a trillion trillion. Merchandising, where the real money from the series is made.

You can't say that for sure. Even Starfleet didn't officially recognize them. They could have been much more pervasive than Bashir ever imagined.

Star trek may have been exhausted of creativity by now. Hence so many time traveling episodes and alternative timelines. At least to me it would seem when you run out of ideas you just create a time traveling episode. Time traveling is as old as TOS. Take a look at the Star trek timeline (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Star_Trek).
Now take a look at this timeline (http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline)!

True, only so many things can happen in space...and with 100s of episodes written its hard to be new/creative, especially for 7 seasons of 26 episodes each.
Perhaps a George R.R. Martin approach is needed. Stop us all believing that the main crew can never be killed.

I think in the current timeline of at least TNG, I mean, it would be pretty easy to come up with concepts for episodes imagine it. From startrek enterprise (the most recent 4 season series) we found out that there was/is a military that earth has, could include that in an episode. Could have ships being built, problems with w/e with the ships, some, very very little politics, More Q episodes, perhaps a species that is on similar or higher level than Q but with corporeal forms that use technology to get into the same incorporeal state as the Q. Shit man, just get a bunch of startrek nerds high and fill a notebook.
You could bring into the mix super weapons that all the species have banned from being built, large incursions. Just these badass space battles where the federation is winning until earth either gets destroyed completely by cloaked ships/super weapon, or earth just gets a good hit that devestates the population, the scenery of seeing the crown jewel of the human race with these new buildings would be insane just to see the destruction. You could bump ahead (can't recall how far ahead in time it was, i think 2800-3000) there was an episode in Archer's enterprise that had that one time travelling dude talking/teleported archer into the future to see a space battle going on. New ship designs.

That is :
The Starship Enterprise J is commisioned and takes part in the Battle of Procyon V against the Spherebuilders as shown in Enterprise episode "Azati Prime".
Which i found fascinating. The entire season 3 focused on saving Earth from destruction. Just about every episode in that season focused on the main plot which I love instead of random sci-fi things happening like in TNG. I think maybe what did Enterprise in was the randomness of season 2 with plenty of boring episodes but when season 3 and 4 came most people stopped watching due to that earlier season 2... at least that's what happened with me.

Yeah. You know, Dr. Julian Bashir. The one that was contacted by Sloan of division 31 to become an operative for him and subsequently became obsessed with rooting out section 31. At one point even nearly getting himself and O'Brien killed when they went inside Sloan's mind as he was dying to retrieve information.

Doh. Reading comprehension fail on my part, I forgot I mentioned both in the same post. I thought you were linking Bashir to the bugs so I was like wha? lol.
