When: this past weekend

What: I, as a retard handed in some lambent quest items to the wrong person in solro temple.

Result: petition promptly verified and Sirken visited me in game to reimburse the items in roundabouts 24 hours.

Having come from live, I can't express how happy I was with the volunteer staff here. This was MY fault, and for all intents and purposes I didn't expect reimbursement. I wouldn't have been angry if it were denied - again my fault.

I lurked here for a long time as well as the rerolled forum - long before playing. From reading various threads I expected something very different - but this is really the only place out there to get that classic fix with a healthy population. There's a lot of drama here, but most of it is player/guild driven - that, too, is classic. While I find the raiding situation to be comical with waiting in lines etc, I also understand that the problems on live with poopsocking, cockblocking, and the resultant drama. With the bloat of level 60s, those problems are bound to be multiplied.

Anyways, I'm rambling.

Staff, thanks for your hard work. A 300pp item may not seem like a big deal to most, but the gesture and the service is/was invaluable. I just discontinued my 3 live accounts and will probably be diverting those allocated funds to p99 from now on. The community and game experience is more than worth it.

Shot in the dark here, did you talk to the one erudite chick who says the gem you need for the quest can be obtained by giving something "to my brother," and she's standing next to another erudite so you give him the gem, but it turns out "her brother" is a fucking high elf on the other side of the room?

Cause I definitely did that back when I was doing my lambent quests. Apparently in Sol Ro temple "my brother" doesn't mean the same thing as it does when we're all hanging out on the steps over in Erudin

Glad that Sirken was able to get to your petition quickly. I knew he was doing a batch that day, which was why I had you put everything up in the petition forum right away.

I personally love reading forum posts or receiving tells like this. Some of the CSR staff puts in a ton of time and effort into making your play experience enjoyable, so it's really great to know that people appreciate that hard work!

Grats, I've been waiting 8 days for an item reimbursement. Lucky. Understandable I guess since I imagine the GMs have life's outside eq so like to just do it in batches when they have free time.

Your items 'poofed' which makes them a lot harder to verify :(

As an example, the OP in this thread had an issue that required 1 lookup in the frontend and it was done.

For a poofed item, I have to check 10 different things for each item, for each petition. So you can imagine how quickly that becomes a huge chunk of time even for just a few petitions. Add to that that i've been really busy IRL and there's a line about 2 weeks long right now (maybe even a little longer) for poofed items/dropped items.

Eunomia told me that shit is deep on poofed items. I can imagine you do a lot of checks to make sure you are not giving items to players who already had the item.

I'm honestly just surprised that a free emu server has any level of dedicated staff. Sure .. if you're being paid to do a job you have expectations of you, but as a volunteer? Hopefully karma exists and that generosity is returned in spades. I'm sure I would make a terrible GM (think of a weird cross between Dogbert and Catbert).

So anyways, thanks :)

I handed in the wrong lute for the lambent BP when I did my quests, after spending many hours collecting everything for every piece. It was 4 am when I was finally done collecting the pieces and gave the wrong lute. But no GMs rushed to help me :( I had a friend run to MM and get me the correct lute while I guarded the NPC with my life so no one would do any turn-ins. Those were some stressful times. Why weren't you there when I needed you GMs??

Just kidding, good to know you guys actually reimburse lost items caused by player stupidity. When I realized it was my mistake and not a bugged NPC I thought GMs wouldn't help in those types of situations.

Hey Derubael, again know you're busy but can you tell me what happened with my items? :(

And yeah your line is longer as my petition is from about six weeks ago.

I did appreciate how quickly you handled the other thing though.

This should have been dealt with weeks ago. If you stay on-line I will get on and resolve this right now.

Oh god, before everyone thinks this is a good way to get my attention on your petition thread, the poster I just addressed about his reimbursement is a special case that should have been dealt with some time ago.

So if I understand you correctly what you seem to be saying is that the reason I wasn't able to get help at 4am that one time is because I didn't try to get the GMs to pay attention to my petition by posting in a 'Thank you GMs' thread? Got it.

Or maybe no one was around :) generally speaking, if you put a petition in in-game, it gets answered within 15 or so minutes, depending on the time of day, volume of petitions, etc. That's why I always tell people to use petition/exploit forum as a last resort, or for things that can only be done by a GM (read: not guides) like item reimbursements or raid disputes.

Also keep in mind, his petition had been in the forum for 6 weeks, so that helped his response time via his post in this thread =P. No one should be waiting that long for an item they lost due to a server error, and I apologize if you're one of those people right now (I know there's probably a couple)

I have faith in people's ability to understand that we're volunteers and try to do all that we can in the time we have allotted each day to Project 1999. When I'm reading the forums, I'm doing that in my spare "fun time", not my "csr time", unless I'm specifically looking at the petition/exploit forum.

That's why I get a little irked when people say something like 'you should be answering my petition instead of posting here!' - I am sorry, but I get to have fun on the box too! We aren't allowed to play characters since we are GM's, so it's good to have "fun time" with Project 1999 to not only help us stay in touch with the community, but also keep ourselves interested in the server :)

^super exclusive never before seen derubael rant.

That's rather depressing, aren't even allowed to play on the server that would help manage and while it makes sense, since the temptation of abusing your power would always be there, sounds to me you shouldn't be punishing just for help out. It's like having your favorite thing being dangled out in front of you but aren't allowed to have it =\

But anyway, keep up the good work. Without your dedication our lives on p99 are meaningless.

PS. someone give this man a raise! Oh wait.. nm ;)

I had a reimbursement ticket sit open from October to December and get closed. I reopened it and then it took 2 additional months to be completed.

I'm not complaining now and I didn't then. Just saying it can take time.
People need to be patient.

Well as long as you don't mind this thread rolling on Derb... I would Also like to express my fondness for these perticular GM's!

No seriously Derb has been everything you could have asked for when I last worked with him, an officer and a gentleman.

So thanks for making this place the play nice place that I was hoping I would be able to enjoy my twilight of fantasy role play when I get off from work, or at least attempt to have a semblance of an adult life while I do so.

/petition can someone get me a seth green autograph sent in the mail plz?
