I know sirens deep in the grotto drop all the gems youll ever need and some decent pp per run. Easiest cash has to be geonids in CC, mad gems on level 30 mobs.

AE kiting othmir are good exp and cash. There are turn-in gems and the fur sells for a good amount. They will likely be super camped on this server.
Velks is solid but will probably be way overcamped.
SG sirens would be a good cash farm with a group, since you can get the BP gems. I think they summon, though.
Otherwise, coldain head farming will probably be solid. Suits of sentient armor drop armor gems and sentient armor which vendors for a good amount.

Lodizal being one of the easiest cash farms, but its gonna be over camped to hell
Crystal Caverns geonids is really cash flow especially if your gaining xp at the same time on a alt
Gems for Quested armor good money, velks, cobalt scar, sirens grotto etc.
Wakening Lands geonids? Not sure if they was added later but also great gem drops.
MQ's for armor, kael and such, alot more of that in velious.
Velks, gonna be hella camped.

Lodi doesn't even have variance iirc. That map piece, lols. Gonna be wild for a few months. I wonder if they're gonna tranix that shit--the people who show up first get it first? :P

The more poopsocking that happens, the faster items will flood the market and the lower prices will be.
That's the beauty of supply and demand.
Prices on lots of new things will be insane early on then plummet. As more new gear enters the market, the more inexpensive older content items will become. Outside of a few classic items like fungi tunics et al, expect a lot of current BiS items to fall in price.
Hopefully some of the older raids will become a bit more available.

I made a fortune soloing Lodizal as an enchanter but only after the stuck that DC gnome with a bajillion hp at the docks, level 30 rogue lol.
Ledge in Velks for SCH was pretty good too if you could get the ledge.
Sirens in CS were good though I don't remmeber what they dropped, think something for quest (maybe spells).

SG is all sorts of broke if it is the same as it was last month.
You can't jump onto land to memblur water-bound mobs. They resist a ton. They hit about 1.5x harder than they should. They're all immune to root/snare (a check I didn't think was in at this point of Velious).
I was hoping it would be my new Kedge. But alas :/.

Is that actually broken? SG was nerfed down a few times on Live. It was pretty damn rough the first few months of Velious.
Man0warr
07-09-2014, 10:22 AM
It got nerfed a lot sooner than that, as early as a month into Velious I think. Same for the original Velketors with the spiders that proc'd a ridiculous poison.
Nerfed versions should probably be in from the get go, would be a lot of work just to use the original versions of those zones for a month or two.
Daldaen

Those mobs shouldn't have a root/snare immunity flag. Nothing should pre-October 2001 I don't think? Since that's when they added unslowable and unmezzable tags.
They should drop aggro if they are a swordfish/seahorse given you jump on land. Currently they just ghost up and continue hitting you.
Most of the 2001 quotes put mobs hitting around 150s there. On beta I was seeing 220 very often.

SG pathing is still in the works I think. But other than that, when I looked into notes pretty thoroughly I saw that the original version of SG sounds like what we have on beta. Shit's like level 52-56, varies from "very resistant" to "wtfmyspells?!", hits for over 200, etc. It wasn't until a few months after Velious release that much of the trash in the zone had their levels dropped so that a lot of the zone didn't summon anymore, resists were less insane, and stuff hit for 180ish like the level 50ish trash mobs in the other Velious dungeons do.
Comments in March mentioning the first mobs in the zone hitting for 200+: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/zones.html?zstrat=122#m98356470925158

Original SG on live was bad ass. Stuff hit for 200+, and were immune to snare, super resistant.
There was a patch that made it a lot more friendly, and I think it was same patch that leveled up Velks mobs and removed their poison (except hunters). Originally, velks mobs were mid 30s but as hard as they were after the revamp.

1FT isn't to be scoffed at. Unless you either intend to poopsock King Tormax or Dozekar or Tunare... Or unless you play on a custom server where your guild is the only large entity and you don't have anyone vying for your mobs.
FT2 boots or Dozekar FT1 mask/range/shield or Tunare FT3 ear are only things that would get me to drop Shawl7.
And I cant log on for most of the hours these mobs are killed. Only ForumQuest :/.

The 7th shawl is one of the only sources of Flowing Thought in the entire game (in the Velious era at least). Plus, IIRC all the others require high-end raiding to obtain.
So how exactly is the only source of mana regen that a non-raider can get get "garbage"?

Wow, I'd forgotten how many existed back then! Nice list ... I guess the 7th Shawl wasn't as unique as I remembered.
Still, for non-raiders there are very few FT options, and even the tradeable ones like the Crown and Choker are likely going to be super expensive. Maybe the 7th Shawl isn't that special, but it's still far from garbage.
*EDIT*
Yea come play on red where we dont roll around in wal mart trash can items for the sake of FT1 when alot better options are there...man o man
So everyone on Red is a high-end raider? Or they just would rather have higher max mana instead of mana regen? I guess higher maximums are more useful in PvP than PvE, but in PvE regen is awesome (there's a reason why Fungis sell for so much).
