As a side note, did anyone ever go to Matchplay/Neutral Ground in Mountain View back in the day? The top guild on Bristlebane (Club Fu) was made up largely of people who played there.

Donruss I lived in WC and went to school in Orinda, I know the pain of the commute! (I had to wake up at like 3:30-4 AM in the morning just to get to school by 6:45. But that was... almost a decade ago yeesh. Also lived/worked in Oakland for about 6 years.

Eh it's not that bad. I live downtown and while sketchier than say Hayes Valley or FiDi, doesn't really prove a great risk of getting shanked IMO. You could always just UBER/Lyft to/from the place so you don't have to walk.

And remember if you were to play p99 at one of these parties you'd need to be on separate wifi's to get past the IP blocking.
