Hello,

I'm new on this forum. I started to play on this server since 2 week.

So, i seen most of solo guys. It seem, people don t want start lowbe level grp. They prefer solo. Peoples play shaman, mage, drood and don t want make grp.

I can t find a grp with my clerc 9 in place like BB. So i start a necro.

What do you think about that ?

Theres not going to be much grouping pre-10. That being said, you're in the West, and almost everyone grouping is in the Commons/Ro area or Crushbone.

if a cleric dies in West Karana, does she make a noise?

Yeah.. It sounds like this...

I don't mean to be snarky, but you've tried a single dungeon (one absconded from the hub of activity of the server) and you're ready to malign the "classicness" or group viability of the server. QQ

Find a wizard or druid to port you to eastern antonica (EC Orc groups come to mind) and i'm sure you'll have better results.

Edit: BTW, BB sucks. It's fun and nostalgic, but it sucks, comparatively =)

You have to get used to starting groups especially if you like grouping (spent all yesterday grouping pre10). Especially as a cleric (one of the pillars of a group) you should have no problem getting a group going. Learn to use /who commands and send some tells you'd be surprised at how many are willing to group.

I havnt rolled an alt in a few but last time I played I always get groups.]

The classes you mentioned are often twinks of people who just want to get the job done and level the class. They are the better solo classes in the game. With mages and necros you dont even have to be a twink to solo out great exp.

As a cleric all you need is a tank and you have a group. DPS'ers are easy to find. Its really upto the healer and tank to make a group. As a DPS'er its a bit harder to form a group as your the lesser part of the equation.

Granted I constantly duo'd with Kashi, but to this point the two of us probably had a combined ~2500 mana til we were already 50 and finally hit PoHate for gear.

Welcome to the server! I had a similar experience. Lots of twinks and PL'd folks here. But you will find the occasional new person to group with; and hopefully can form a more permanent group. EC seems good for orc groups; but those won't be permament group mates. I'm surprised no one is grouping in Crushbone?? Again, welcome!

People have been grouping in Crushbone all week - I've had several multiple hour long groups at Slaver Caves since Tuesday.

The exp bonus that was implemented made solo exp super nutty, that probably contributed to it as well. It gets much better, this server has a strong community.

Crushbone or Orc Hill is an easy group.

EC, Orc 1 and Orc 2, You can also duo and roam.

NRO Dervs until you graduate to Oasis

Dont forget Oasis Orc Hwy.

(Isnt anyone doing bandits in the Karanas?)

This trend will continue until the Devs do something about it. It puts a lot of the newer people off when they start leveling up their favorite class then constantly see and get told to level up an 'easy' class first, then twink out your main to make it easier.

I agree with you to some extent, this is classic EQ - you're not supposed to be soloing your way to 50 at an accelerated rate.

I started a warrior, got him to lvl 10 solo, but it was getting hard to solo.

Someone suggested a druid and I am lvl 40 now with enough money to buy my warrior some gear.

You just gotta try and make some friends, and it will be that much easier to have a nightly group. Though I suspect there are so many twinks nowadays, most players just like to see those big xp jumps in the lower levels, it doesn't last long.

Yeah I noticed this too. Sorry parting with RL friends, sorry soloing, sorry full. Dinged 18 and having a heck of a time finding a spot. Hoping its just the exp bonus but Oasis, Guk, SK, Lake Rathe, Unrest were too crowded and fighting over scrapes. When does kunark hit? Maybe I should take a break until then.

I always enjoyed going off the beaten path for leveling. Away from others. It's nice if you can get a group of friends to group with you in less traveled zones. I tend to enjoy Highpass/East Karana and South Karana at times (there will be people there, just not as many)

Until Kunark does hit, there will be limitations obviously, though.

I think everyone enjoys leveling faster and safer by yourself. It's a win/win situation that's for reason become the norm.

I would just like to add that you will sometimes meet very nice and helpful players. Maybe someone will give you a nice magic item; or give you a buff; or help you with a rez. And you sometimes get in a group that seems to know how to play; and have lots of fun for several hours.

This happens infrequently; but when it does it makes everything seem worthwhile.

Best wishes and safe travels, dragolyche!
