Was talking with a friend, and had a cool idea that we came up with, which was randomly spawning as another player's character every time you log in.
One thing led to another and I completely forgot about Project M, the EQ1 experiment where you could play as a monster.
I started work on a server where you play as a random NPC. In a little under 3 hours, I now have this to show:

It's an EQEmu server that functions similar to EQLive Project M's MPC system. I have no idea what I broke when creating this, but I'll be putting it up as an experiment for shoots and giggles.
Currently the ruleset is set up to inherit NPC procs (think snakes, sonic bats), NPC class, NPC appearance, and attempts to hand out loot table items. Min/max hit is set to the NPC's hit range, and items equipped by the MPC affect its stats like a pet. A few other tweaks are in, but yeah...
Not sure how long i'll keep it up but it's on the list now and I will have the code on my github later if anyone is interested in making their own version of this.
It's a bit crash happy atm, so don't be surprised if you bite the koolaid on zone or die.
