Rogue Duoing Options (57+)

Are there any places/mobs where I could duo my way up to 60?

Are there any classes that make efficient duoing partners for a rogue at 57+?

I feel like any duo options I have available would basically equate to me sucking xp from someone who can solo the mobs anyway.

As a rogue I am essentially reliant on others to get xp at this stage, but I don't want to be a drag on someone else if possible.

You could probably duo skyfire with a snaring bard to hold aggro.

If you want to duo, the usual best options for a rogue would be someone who can snare and fear. I leveled a rogue a lot in BW around the giant fort with a necro and it was surprisingly great XP after 55, even though there were a lot of light blues... but I don't remember if I went up above 57 there or not.

You could duo indoors (seb probably) with a shaman. Even a 60 torpor shaman might like to duo with you if you explained how sure, he can solo all the stuff already, but you increase his DPS by so much that even if he is splitting loot with you he will still be as well or better off.

I haven't tried it but always wondered if a paly/rogue combo would work. It would need to be for low blues and probably casters would be best but the paly can self heal to minimize downtime and the rogue dps means the mob dies before it can do too much damage.
Its more of a mutual relationship where neither could really solo well but together they would work well (as opposed to other duos where you're just adding to someone that can solo anyways)

I played a ton of pal/rogue duo up to low 50s and its an incredible duo. Paladin can pull, CC, chain interrupt casters and hold agro while rog rips DPS. Caster mobs are great cause of low HP and a good paladin wont let the spells off between stuns and bash. When Pal gets Superior Healing he can heal himself just fine. Seb would definitely be the best zone for this due to high caster population. The HTing mobs in HS wouldn't be as kind to this duo. Now the issue is finding a lvl 55+ paladin on the grind :-P

Necro/Druid would make a pretty sweet duo with a Rogue. Fear/snare kiting while you just backstab things. Shaman slow tanking stuff may not be bad either?

i usually duo with a ranger or druid on my rogue. Cant think of many spots thats decent xp at 57 doing this however.

Rogue pally is great, especially if you've got slow weapons to proc (poison too expensive to xp)


Rogue/shaman is what I did on live, and it was ridiculously easy in OS to get to 60. did a fair bit of chardok too

I always liked the bard/rogue duo. Snare and fear plus haste and regen as needed will get the job done.

I will try to look out for bards/necros/shammies/druids/pallies for Skyfire or Seb (just 2 zones? this is gonna be rough).

With bard fear/snare, you could pretty much do any zone. KC, SF, BW, and Sebilis come to mind. Perhaps HS if bard is competent enough.

I trio'd with a bard and enchanter (I was on my shaman) in HS west. Bard would do snare song and we'd just beat it down while running in circles.

I imagine a rogue would pair well with a bard just be aware of the fact that a healer would be super beneficial to that mix.

Shaman rogue duo pretty good. Like monk shm but u can evade slowed mobs on shm to bs.

Well I tried Skyfire with a 58 bard tonight. We did fairly well, but there were a couple issues.

First, pulling there is kind of a pain. We had about twice as many pulls with 2-3 mobs as we did single mobs. They were still manageable, unless the 2nd issue arose...

Chromadracs were an absolute pain if they were ever pulled. It's very hard to keep them out of the pull at times too.

And finally, even after all was said and done, we only had less than 1% xp gained after about 15 or so kills. Most of the generic mobs near the zone lines are only lvl 40.

Maybe we'll try someplace else later, but for now Skyfire seems off the table.

After Skyfire, the bard and I went to KC.

We were able to duo RCY for the most part, and the xp was much faster there than in Skyfire.

Might also try duoing the Hole entrance mobs today. Will let you know how that goes if we do.
